Friends I need some guidance here..  About 15 years ago I decided to collect some iconic album covers to frame. I came across a decent copy of Abbey Road for a very decent price (I think I paid $12-15 back then). When I received it I immediately framed it and it hung in my living room for months before I noticed something while cleaning the glass. It appears to have a pen signature of John Lennon. I've kept it in it's case over the years and kept it out of sunlight. Now married, I recently bought a new home and while decorating my office with sports and rock memorabilia, I came across the album again and now decided to listen to it. That is when I discovered the sleeve is also signed.. Are these authentic Lennon autographs?

Sorry, no.

No way, sorry.

A $15 signed Abbey Road?  Would be an all-time best find -- but these are poor attempts at Lennon's signature.

no

Not authentic, unfortunately.

Not sure why the signature(s) were placed there as some were innocently added by fan-owners (to mark them when taken to a party, for example), some were added for fun, some were meant to deceive.

This LP appears in great condition, a fun (& rare) 1974-77 Capitol USA orange label, which would have been worth more if someone hadn't added the phony scribbles.

Bottom line: not even close to Lennon's signature.

Not even close!!!
