that was my very first thought, too.

but it is almost impossible to be sure about it.

same with me. i wouldn't spend money on it unless it came with rock hard provenance or from a collector with perfect reputation.

I saw your signed magazine mike, and i think the kurt auto i have is similar to yours more than this one.

How bad do you want Cobain, Alastair? You're going to have this problem with almost any of his autographs. He's so hard to authenticate--Nirvana's so hard period--that Roger won't issue a COA on them, and that would extend to JSA from when he started consulting for them. I don't know if PSA/DNA will. What you may be able to get from Roger is his opinion of whether it has a decent chance of being good...most are obvious forgeries, of course.

If you really want a Cobain, or this one particularly, put some time into getting all the feedback you can from people with experience in Nirvana and then decide if it's a risk you want to take.

I know what your saying steve, kurt cobain had so many different styles of signing his name that you never know whats real or not.Psa do nirvana autos, there is one on eBay for sale that has a psa cert.

What do you think of the PSA one?

First I was going to say that it was no good because the signature is on a UK magazine and Nirvana never toured the UK after September 1993. But then I saw that the magazine was sold in the US. So there is a posibility that it was signed in the US during fall of 1993.

I give it a 50/50 chanse to be genuine. I guess that is as close as we can get.

And that brings us to the other problem that we have with Kurt's autograph. IF I ever wants to sell one of my signed Nirvana records, I will have a hard time to get it authenticated. Because even that I was there and got the records signed in person and have all the background information. (Like date, place and time the autographs was signed.) I don't have any photo proofs or video proofs that I was there and got the autographs.

The buyer and authenticater have to look at the autographs and trust my words.

I wish I had a picture of the picture disc that my friend got signed at the same time. He got a very nice and strange inscription from Kurt.

I don't know what Mike think is very, very high, but I start thinking in 5 digit numbers.

I'm in my 50s. Is it ten grand yet?

Once the most prolific forgery dealers are gone, Nirvana LPs could bring that kind of money easy.

Steve, the one on eBay is $10 grand.
Have a look at this photo of kurt signing his name and see the style of the k.He is printing his name very boldly,i havent seen an auto like that before.

Hey Alastair, did you ever send your Nirvana items to PSA? Just curious.
