It would be odd if it wasn't signed by her. Looks bang on to me but these later cheques are not the rarest of MM items. I had one once - also for this kind of amount and to Hedda Rosten. As it was my first Marilyn it gave me a great thrill at the time but I subsequently sold it and for quite a profit.

I'd say that's about on the money. As these cheques are fairly common there is almost a "going rate" for them. Personally, I'd save up for something more unusual.

This looks close at least, but there are fake Marilyn Monroe checks. Find out its provenance, its sales history. I'd ask Tom Kramer of Golden Age Autographs for his opinion.

Looks good, but unless a historic check or made out to someone of almost equal fame, I'd wait for earlier Marilyn ink usually for the same price. As stated, there is a consistent, going rate for these. Circa 1952-1955 represent her more legible period, yet busy enough to still be classic Marilyn. These later signatures appear to be handwriting hash in comparison to the previous decade's output.
