Just received my “signed” bookplate copy from omnivore books and while I’m no Martha expert there seems to be some red flags here making me think this is autopen? Thoughts from others? Thanks

Looks very much like autopen.

Ouch, that's pretty obvious

Quick glance and I'd say autopen. Constant pen pressure throughout, and the good ol tell tale dots on the beginning and end of every letter. Try to find some copies that match yours and pretty much open and shut case at that point I'd say.

Mine matches yours exactly, thanks for posting. I’ll be seeking a refund and will try to get a picture up.

Mine at the bottom. Also, mine was from Omnivore, I know they showed up other places later including TSL

she or her peeps didn't even try on this one. ugh

I received the attached version from Omnivore, which does not match the autopen examples and does not seem to have the characteristics of autopen.

That’s great to hear and adds up to what I was told when I complained. They’re sending me a new book with legit bookplate so I’ll post once I receive. This is the email response from Omnivore:

I am SO sorry about this; we had no idea these older bookplates were signed with autopen until another customer alerted us to the issue earlier this week. We ran out of the newer ones (which are definitely signed in person and have a gold border), so used up the last of some older ones we had on hand from the publisher, who has also now been made aware of this problem.

The publisher (Clarkson Potter) feels equally dismayed, and will gladly send you a new copy with legit bookplate. As for myself, I'm also an avid collector and am so bummed we didn't know about this until we'd already sent them out (and didn't have a record of who received the last of these bookplates).
