Hi, I would appreciate opinions on this Mantle ball.  I apologize for the poor quality of the photo, but it's all I have.

Thanks in advance,

Allen

This is mine, I used to help run card shows. Got this in the early 80s. This autograph was the newest way he signed before passing.

Oh I get it.  so you believe that the same person that signed that photo, also signed that ball?  Thanks for the education, I didn't know he had a new way of signing before he passed.

the photo is very nice and no doubt authentic.   The ball is not.

u guys have better eyes than me, cause is hard to tell the difference.

You're right about that, Darwin--we do have a better eye than you.

95% of Mantle forgeries can be opined in one second.

ok show me the difference, you have 1 fake and 1 real. 1 sec is like Agent Strzok had Clinton winning 100 million to zero.

Darwin, it's not about "showing you the difference."

For me, it's about "having an eye for autographs."

Exactly, Christopher.  And Mantle autographs is one area where I’ve grown a lot as a collector due to this website and the tutelage of you and Terrier.  Thanks!

Thank you, James.

thank you James.  Christopher and Steve Z were instrumental for me early on, as i had a few Mantle clunkers in my collection.  They offered a lot of guidance.

Yes, Steve Z. is very helpful with Mantles as well.

Mantle did not have a new way of signing before he passed.  I have 17 signed Mantle items, all signed nearly identical.  The first was in 1979 and the last was his second to last show at the Riviera Hotel/Casino just before he passed.  The only significant change in his signature was how he signed when he was a rookie.
