The following is a HORRENDOUS forgery listed by eBay seller clmjmpgiants that is accompanied by some sort of Upper Deck "COA", meaning that this is either a copy, stolen copy, or flat out fake reproduction of an Upper Deck "COA". The last I heard, Upper Deck did not keep any database to verify whether or not this code will even pull up a Mantle signature to begin with.

The wannabe autograph collectors on Ebay are always falling for this type of scam.
Ebay seller clmjmpgiants is just a typical Ebay scammer.
That is one obvious and laughable Mickey Mantle forgery listed by Ebay seller clmjmpgiants.
the UDA card is cut off where it would normally have the description of the item. if anyone falls for this nonsense they deserve to get screwed.
Great observation, Terrier.
At the price Ebay seller clmjmpgiants has it listed, even the suckers and wannabe autograph collectors won't bid on that crap!!!
Looks like an authentic UDA certificate if you look at the item on Ebay but the autographed bat has been switched out with the original authentic one that accompanied the certificate.
Quite a scam.
Somewhere there is an authentic Mantle autograph bat floating around probably with a 3rd party authentication and a UD hologram on the knob.
As the now owner of this bat, the owner of my store, Legends in Sports, and ebay member clmjmpgiants with a perfect rating of over 12,000 items sold, I have removed the questionable item from ebay until review by JSA. I have been in this business for almost 30 years now, and I guess you learn something new everyday. After purchasing this item a few months earlier from a customer, and seeing a real UDA cert (not cut or copied, with a real UDA hologram on the cert as well). I did not even question the item. I mean who would waste a perfectly good UDA coa and also have the sticker from the box? It is never my intention to be a scammer as stated earlier in this post. I am offended by those who have accused me of so. You don't last long in this business doing this. My apologies for those who can do no wrong. Sincerly, John M. Petrovic, (Legends in Sports), and clmjmpgiants
Hi Steve, Yes, I do understand the theory behind it. I was just offended at some of the comments. I have always tried to be the best and my customers know this. I am going to keep in touch, as you can never learn enough when it comes to autographs.
Legends, thank you for pulling the item. Hopefully this will serve as a valuable lesson for you to pay more attention to stuff you are buying from customers. It's all about the SIGNATURE, not the piece of paper or sticker that comes with it.
John, thank you for doing the right thing with regards to this item. Please understand that you are in the minority. Most of the time, when we try to contact the sellers of these obvious forgeries, the response is usually extremely negative. so the items get posted here. the business you are in is riddled with scammers and forgers, so if you are selling a forgery (intentionally or not), it is expected that you will be considered on of "them". I hope you can track down the seller of this item and get a refund, once JSA rejects it.
I appreciate the fact that you removed your listing, John, but I have to wonder how can someone "Who has been in the business for 30 years" not notice that it is an obvious forgery?
