I posted this in another section of the forums here before I saw this Beatles Specific area. I hope I am not causing a problem by simply re-posting my original query (and adding a few things) here. I am new but have been gathering signatures in person since 1988 or so (but have never had anything of this magnitude!).

Here is what was posted and new info at the bottom..thanks for any and all thoughts! :

Kind of a long post...sorry...just want to give background info on my items!! :-)

Ok, so two good friends of mine were big time Beatles guys long before I wanted to get a few good items for myself (thinking there would be nothing left since it was pre-eBay days).

The one friend is Tom (not really his name) and he owned a record store where I worked. The other was Harry (not really his name), who was a doctor and Blues Club owner. Tom was, and still is, an expert in the Beatles collecting field. He has some truly rare items that have been featured in books and on tv. I remember two such items as being some rare 45 picture sleeve with only a few known to exist, and the other was some letter hand written by John on Apple Corps stationary to a young girl where he discussed religion.  ANYWAY, Harry had the money and often purchased stuff from Tom or they traded often (HArry being a big collector in gear...Vox amps and Beatles related instruments). Harry also had a great Blues Club and had MANY people sign guitars to hang on the walls.

Ok getting on with it...a few years ago Harry passed away (Rest his Soul...). Luckily Harry gave his son instructions before his demise that Tom should get the Amps and Beatles stuff. Everything else went to Harry's son (who is an older adult and has no interest in this kind of stuff). Well, I wanted a few things from HArry's estate and his son ended up charging me pennies for Harry's old convertible Mercedes and some pinball machines.

Ok...all good. A few weeks after helping clean out his estate, Tom asks if I would like to acquire a couple of pieces out of Harry's collection. He says he already has plenty of signed things with Caiazzo certifications, etc. and he knew that I was looking out for a "Holy Grail" for my own collection. He offered to me three pieces from Harry's large collection. The Holy Grail was a Sgt. Peppers signed throughout different times by George, Paul, and Ringo. The other was a John signed "Shaved Fish", and the last was a signed Queen Lp by all. Now I didn't get them for free, I traded a massive amount of Kiss items for them :-)

Anyway, I have worked on various international tours as a "roadie" for the past 15 years or so and I myself have made some great connections and have gained some cool items over the years. The past two years I have been off the road and have wanted to open a little record store. Everyone tells me "DON'T DO IT!" hahahh. Well, I wanted to get some bills paid off before I apply for a loan and thought about going ahead and putting the Sgt Peppers and Shaved Fish on eBay. I decided that because for every person i look up about authenticating something, there are a ton of bad reviews for every good one. Caiazzo of course won't do it. This known store in England was going to do it and they said the Sgt Peppers looked fine but the Paul signature wasn't clear enough. Others said flat out not real. Anyway, I am thinking about posting them and simply telling my store such as I wrote here and see where it goes. (I'm keeping the Queen for myself since I have a much larger Queen collection before I even started keeping Beatles stuff....hey, I'm younger than Tom and Harry. :-) I mainly collect guitar picks and my holy grails are some Traveling Wilbury's picks along with solo Paul and George picks...and my Elvis!

Ok, so there we have it. I have used this forum before and everyone was cool and thought I would try here again. I would love to post some of my signatures I've gotten in person but many probably wouldn't give two hoots about some of the band autographed items I have. lol.

Thanks all and let me hear your thoughts! :-)

Sincerely,

Ray R.

***Ok, so I added the biggest scan I could within the size limits of the Peppers and the Fish. The questionable Paul is taken with my phone camera. Thanks again for taking the time looking!

Unfortunately, I have to agree with those who believe that the signed Pepper is a flat out fake. The same goes for the Lennon signed Shaved Fish, but the Macca signed Hey Jude lyrics looks good to me.

Pepper is a flat out fake and those who want a real one will pay!

No question in my mind that your Pepper and Lennon signatures are fake - and not very good ones. While the Macca looks fine, if its associated with the others, I'd be nervous.

The Pepper and the Shaved fish are pathetic...Macca?....probably!!!

Pathetic he says ha ha ha!

I have to agree that the signatures on the Sgt Peppers and Shaved Fish Lp’s are not genuine and not very good forgeries at that. These most likely don’t come with any recognized COA’s?

the only authentic autograph in that lot is the Paul M on the Hey Jude lyrics.  that is a nice signature.

I agree with the others. I think that the McCartney is a very nice late 1990s-2005ish example and that the rest are not real.

I, too, agree.  The others are very bad.  The McCartney looks good but, as Jim McFiver said : "While the Macca looks fine, if its associated with the others, I'd be nervous"  Does anyone else feel this way.  I've seen a lot of Very Good McCartney forgeries (especially in recent years) and my fear is that this is one of those.  By itself, it may be good enough to trick someone but together, I wouldn't touch it without a Caiazzo or Tracks thumbs up.

McCartney is very similar to the "High In The Clouds" books. Likely good.

"Lennon" is on a 1970s record. But the writing mimics a 1963 version. Which is because Lennon likely didn't write it.

Hey guys and thanks to all! To answer some questions, no the McCartney was something I recently got through the shop I work at...that Sgt Peppers and the Shaved Fish were from the friend that passed away estate. Too bad, he had me convinced that the George and the Ringo were real as to even saying the Ringo was before he signed with a star and all that. And the Lennon came with that one as well. Oh well...I simply traded my Kiss collection for those two records. (!!)
Back to the Paul, there is a certificate on the back of the frame but from what I looked up, not many people have very good things to say about where it came from! Let me upload the photo of it if I have it...
Here is he sticker on the back of the McCartney frame...
