Likely authentic IMO, but who filled in the skips in the signature? You'll never know if it was Armstrong or the recipient.

that's is what I was thinking too re missing strokes. I was wondering how often you've seen this with Armstrong?

It's not uncommon to see skips in the paraph. Especially with in-person signatures.

I see what you are referring to now...would this detract from the value at all?
What would be a ballpark figure for an item such as this?

It will detract from value if the signature is "touched up."
Given it is a postcard, non-spacesuit pose and it has a touch-up of unknown origin, I don't think it's worth more than $700. It may go higher than that, but you would have a hard time moving this down the road.

No problem and understood. Not uncommon to see skips in Armstrong's paraph.

How would one tell if this were autopen or not? Could this skipping effect be a result of autopen?

It does not match any published autopen patterns. Plus, the varying pressure is completely uncharacteristic of an autopen. It is certainly not an autopen.
