Please Help with Short Research Study at Yale University on Collecting Behavior

**NOTE: the survey has been closed. Thanks everyone!

Hi Forum Members,

I am a current graduate student at Yale University studying why people are interested in collecting. I would really appreciate your help if you have about 10 minutes to spare.

The following is a link to a survey that asks about your general preferences:

https://yalesurvey.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_eD65Y9MJXy4eLQN

All individuals who agree to participate will be eligible for a 1/20 chance of a $50 Amazon gift card.

I really appreciate your time and honest responses!

If you have any questions please email me at rosanna.smith@yale.edu.

Thanks!

Hi Rosanna,

I took your survey and it doesn't really talk about collecting. It talks more about why we buy brands and products. Did you post a link to the right survey?

Thank you Steve for your reply!

Yes this is the right survey link. The goal of the survey is to measure the general preferences of collectors.  Thus, the questions are not directly about collecting but are about your more general behaviors and preferences which will help us understand why people decide to collect.

Let me know if you need further clarification!

Rosanna

Collecting is better than sex, but if you buy a forgery that's like brain freeze.

I must be collecting the wrong stuff.

Took the survey, looks like you are more interested in behavioral aspects. I would recommend looking into "addictive personalities" in regards to collectors. I know personally I have always had an addictive personality which spans all types of things growing up from action figures, to beanie babies, to cards, to shoes, to autographs, etc. I would bet their is a high correlation!

+1, except for the beanie babies!!

Thanks Ryan for the suggestion! I will keep that in mind going forward.

Appreciate you filling out the survey!

Thanks!

Done. :-)

Awesome! Thanks!

What are you currently studying?

I, too, have both primary and secondary research experience. Are you going to be using any regression analysis?
