Hello it's me again on the hunt for a ramones autograph, there is no COA and Christmas is coming up and wanted to get one hopefully, this one cost over $500 and was apparently signed in 1999 at the Virgin center thing. Any input will be appreciated and if it's not worth the risk let me know and I'll wait for another one to come around.

That's awesome man! I appreciate the time you took to show me that, I watched Steve's autopen video and those looked horrendous but I'm glad I learned just minimal ones like that are bad too! I'm pretty happy to be honest, you saved me alot of money and even taught me something in the process, much respect Eric!

Ps I don't hold anything against Richard not that I would, he didn't get to see the closeups either so it's completely cool.

Thank you Mike :-) That makes me very happy to have helped and shown you something. I'd never hold anything against Richard - his opinion is most valued. I may be remembering incorrectly but I think my David Gilmour signed CD started out with him. And as was once said, if we don't have differing opinions, we are not thinking!

Just came back from the post office, I also think it was the right move it's not worth constantly thinking about it I'll wait for a new listing. They have one JSA certified for $750 but I'm going to hold off and wait for a better one or just a single Joey Auto would be nice.

Good move. It would always be there... Can you see what I am trying to show you with the colored scans above? That is, IMO, why the item failed - that and other things like it on the other signatures.

Yeah I think so I see how the line goes left to right a little while the other Joey you sent didn't have those it was really smooth and the same size around the whole r, instead of that thinner part at the top?

Yes, indeed, those little hesitant or unsure movements. With something to compare too, they do begin to stick out. The other with the blue is just so certain and easy in execution. Some call that "natural flow", something you can look for and see lacking in the lesser forgeries. They are not "alive" but they act and look sus.

"unless you witness the signing, you just will never be 100% sure."

That may be technically true, but I believe you can get to an overwhelming percentage when, for example, an original 2x weight studio marked still has the correct back stamps, ink, signature style for the date, dedication, and the provenance and age all entwine.

This has nothing to do with the authenticity of the signatures. I just wanted to say the Ramones captured my life's philosophy "I Wanna Be Sedated."

That's cool man! No problem! and ACOA said they were fake so I returned the item.

I’m not familiar with their signatures or signing habits, but I’m wondering about the upside down Dee Dee signature. Did a forger really do that in order to make it appear haphazardly signed?

I Have no idea, it was allegedly signed at the 1999 Virgin Store and there was a table where the Ramones were sitting. The people would bring their items to it, one ramone would sign it Starting with Johnny then he'd pass it to Dee Dee Etc.

Ps There's a youtube video that shows the event.
