Hey guys! I would probabaly like to buy myself for my birthday this Ray Charles autograph..is it genuine in your eyes?Cheers, Christian:)
Because Innuendo on this website said that his Freddie Mercury signature was fake...so I am curious..
Two brothers bought it for $10 at the estate sale.
Yes, Steve, your right, my brother and I were the ones who discovered it.
Interesting conversation. I find it hard to believe Ray Charles NEVER signed any autographs his whole life. However the signature in question does look "stampish" or maybe a manager signed it who could see. Definitely suspicious of it.
I am pleased to see that the $10 garage sale example is very similar to mine, that was signed in Paris in May 1962 according to the seller- see post about 5 pages ago (!) I don't recall seeing that example before Steve so that was a very interesting post for me - thank you. Although mine was bought at a higher class fleamarket the seller wasn't quite as generous, though the price was still very reasonable indeed.
I think the "Miss Cupertino" provenance video more or less rules out the theory that Charles never signed anything. Apart from a bit of publicity "Miss C" had nothing to gain from recording the video as she was selling the autograph in question for charity. From what I gather she probably didn't need the publicity either.
I assumed so myself but I'm glad you asked.
it's surprising he could play piano and find the correct keys to press.
This one sold at Heritage awhile back.
