Hello everyone!

I am a long-time collector and first time user on the site. Nice to e-meet you all. I started collecting when I was around 12, writing letters to my favorite actors on television. I remember how much fun it was to receive a signed photo in the mail. I now live in the Los Angeles area I’ve been able to get many autographs in person which is wonderful. That’s really the only way to know for sure it’s 100% authentic. But, my collection was always missing my favorite actor of all time, Marlon Brando. I studied his autograph a bit and found something on eBay that I purchased and got for a steal. Personally, I feel the cost doesn’t necessarily coincide with authenticity. I just got lucky with an auction. You all are the experts, so I’d love some feedback. The third photo I lightened up significantly to get a better look at the signature. I also like that the item itself is pretty rare. It did come with an original COA/ The seller is selling his entire collection of items and he originally bought it in a store in Hollywood. I believe that he believes it is real and is not trying to scam me or anyone. He has a wide array of signed items for auction. Although we all know a COA doesn’t mean much as they are just as easily faked. Thanks so much looking forward to your replies!

One look at this sellers closed auctions, the names and prices realized says everything you need to know, apart from the very poor obvious and slow forgeries. Lou Costello for $16? Warhol $40, Dylan $19, Cass $108, Harrison Ford $10 and so on. There is more than low price in common...$104 for Brando on that record? "...bought it in a store in Hollywood...."

How does the Brando autograph look? Possibly real or just a good forgery? He did say he'd give a full refund if it failed authenticating.  thanks!

Neither - poor forgery. It was returned when it was last purchased for $140 in March - wonder why? Both of his bad "Shatner" sigs are by the same hand FWIW.

Thanks Keith - where are you seeing it returned? I'll reach out to the seller now.

You are most welcome. Sellers closed sold auctions on eBay, in March. I would not do anything but get your refund - anything else is a waste of your time and/or money.

Don't throw any money into getting this authenticated - get a refund ASAP. Who issued the original cert BTW? All junk from what I see, the Roger Waters is as pathetic as the Lou Costello. I would steer well clear of any of this sellers items.

Hi scteel24,

Definitely not real in my opinion, and I know Brando autographs pretty well.

BTW, please watch this video on how to post discussions with images:

Thanks

"...Although we all know a COA doesn’t mean much as they are just as easily faked..." - or just plain wrong. Hope you get your refund :)

Thanks everyone - much appreciated!!

I'll let you know how it turns out. The original COA was from StarWorld which had a store on Hollywood Blvd but is now closed.

Happy to help. Good luck Stceel24 :) Thank you - do keep us posted.

Well that was easy enough. I contacted the seller on ebay - his reply:

"So sorry. I do believe it Is real, however please return for full refund, and I apologize for the problem".

I submitted a refund request and should be all set. Such a shame  - it's a really cool item.

thanks again!!!

Excellent! :D
