I’ve only had one experience with merchbar and they sent me a reprint auto of sum41 after advertising it as being signed. Then they proceeded to not answer me for over a month so I had to do a chargeback. Would never deal with them again. I would recommend staying away but other people have had better luck.

I'm still dealing with that too. How did you do the chargeback, Paypal? I'm worried if I do "item not as described" they will make me pay international return shipping. I've already had to pay substantial import fees for this crappy item.

I contacted my bank and told them they wouldn’t honor a return. That was it.

They both use the same software program (Zendesk), which can cause your browser to recognise some fields, but AFAIK that's as far as the affiliation goes. Recordstore is part of a large group of websites owned and operated by UMG. Merchbar as far as I know is not. Merchbar also mostly acts as intermediary, most items ship from 3rd parties. 
I have had a shipment from Recordstore not arrive, but that was due to international shipping. There's still lots of shipping issues since COVID.

For me with recordstore and sound of vinyl im lucky if 50% of my orders actually arrive my elvis costello signed lp/book and damon albarn signed lp and thumbprint cards were all lost in transit if it they were ever actually posted as no tracking or shipment notice was ever given

I've had 2 purchases w/Recordstoreuk and both times I had to contact them regarding shipping. Both times the items just showed up. One being only a week ago. In November I pre-ordered a Volbeat set and a Matthew Berry LP. The Berry was available for a long time. The Volbeat was scheduled to release early December.

I sent them a message a few weeks back seeing how it was February. Got a quick reply that someone was looking into it, then the Berry portion was cancelled next day and is no where to be found on the site. OK.

Then nothing. My orders still showed in full on the site.

One day last week the package showed up with my Volbeat items. I never received any dispatch messages. 

I know they don't offer tracking for US, but there is tracking of sorts on the mailings. Twice things just showed up.

Not sure if I can keep doing business with them. I've received other items from the UK only days after ordering from some artists direct sites. I'm in Arizona USA.

Bastille did also just show up the day before Volbeat w/o any notice of dispatch. that was ordered right from the Bastille site, but I think still falls under the UMG family.

Back in Sept I ordered Orange Signed vinyl of The Lumineers from these clowns, release was mid Jan, still nothing by 2nd week in Feb, few back and forth emails with them sayingit was sent, then a cancellation email saying they'd tried to deliver it, was unsuccesful and was returned to them..... Chancers

I've the signed Ghost CD coming from them too, not holding much hope for that one

I found myself placing two seperate orders for something i really want as i know one wont arrive also got orders from the Bastille and Aurora store who im sure are the same company that have been in transit 10 days or more UK to UK so again im expecting non arrivals ,as for the Ghost orders well lets see
