Did a search and did not see a topic about this, as a collector of music graphs, I thought it would be nice to see who is on everyones most wanted list. Do you plan on purchasing or try in person or through the mail? Me, (at least for now) will only purchase if its direct from the artist or though record label pre signings

The past year, I have put a nice dent into my list, the next few months I would like to work on getting the following to help fill in missing pieces in my collection, if anyone has an address or other info that might help, please feel free to share : )

Steve Jones and Paul Cook from the Sex Pistols, Dave Davies from the Kinks, Roger Taylor from Queen, Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth from UFO and Scorpions, Joe Jackson,  Topper Headon and Paul Simonon from the Clash

There are a lot more but sadly they have either passed or are really hard to get due to being "bad" signers

This is easy for me.  Jim Morrison.  As far as the living are concerned I suppose it would be a toss-up between Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.  Songwriting impresses me the most when it comes to music artists.

I have a difficult time finding authentic autographs by Nirvana, Eddie Cochran, Ray Charles, Duane Allman, Dimebag Darrell, Notorious BIG, Ronettes, Thelonius Monk (even though it's not rock)

I have to ask, Ted. Do you have Ray Charles?

I only know about one genuine Ray Charles and that one belonged to the person who was responsible for all artist bookings at an amusement park in Sweden. It was signed in the late 50s or early 60s and I have tried to get a copy of it.

Here are my  Ray Charles autographs which were taken face-to-face with Ray Charles and were signed by him. They were taken in May 1963 in Birmingham UK where Ray Charles was doing a show. I've got one on the back of a promo card and the other is in a end-of-year edition (1962) of New Musical Express and it contains another 70 autographs (taken through 1963) of other stars of the day. My friend Paul got his autograph direct from Ray who signed it for him. Paul was 14 at the time and I only guess because they were kids he agreed to sign. Paul recalls his manager/assistant guided his hands to the item and then Ray signed.

Steve,

I don't have a Ray Charles autograph and I don't think I'll ever find an authentic one.  Even his contracts are signed by his attorneys or agents.  I wish I had one though.

Same goes for Shakespeare and Steve Jobs.  I don't think I'll ever find one.

Ted

Ted,

You're right about Ray's contracts. I haven't given up hope that real Ray Charles autographs with strong provenance exist...but I don't expect to ever own one either.

What are Steve Jobs autographs going for these days? Not Apple founding docs...just typical ones.

Joe Jackson is a hard autograph to get in person?

theres a fully signed msg tour programme on ebay right now

I, too, would love Jim Morrison but sadly is out of my range in authentic form. I would like Cobain as well.

I have a Val Kilmer signed Jim Morrison photo from Oliver Stone's The Doors film.  Does that count?

Val kilmer has turned into Meat Loaf!! ;)
