Rock and Roll Collection Concerns [Title revised by moderator]

I see this site brought up a lot on this site for autograph references.

http://www.rockandrollcollection.com/

problem is, who ever this Stephan is he has a load of forgeries up here too. I get messages from people from time to time saying he has offered to sell a member here an item or two and it is never the real stuff imo, it is usually the fake stuff. Greed. He wants money but doesn't want to part with the good stuff.

Eagles are his most famous work. Attached is a screen shot of his fake work (not limited too). Notice how they are the same..... duh. If you look through his stuff he has loads of fake Zeppelin, Beatles, Springsteen, Stones, Floyd and more. Even the so called authentic Traveling Wilbury's is not real. Maybe the George and Petty are ok but 100% not the Lynne and I'm pretty sure the Dylan is bogus also. Anyway, I don't wish to debat about this guy and his ethics but if you are using him a reference be careful and I wouldn't buy anything from the guy either.

Agreed. They share other characteristics as well. I'll work on it tomorrow.

This is one with a similar P as well as a similar "cC" formation this is from the mid 90's authenticate d by Caiazzo and I always felt looked bad...But Frank is the expert obviously.

I dont like any of them

Me neither.. the fourth one is just... well I'll let that one stand on it's own.

I agree on the fourth one--no way. But if Ballroom thinks there's a case for the others, I sure as heck want to hear it.

Ballroom I agree with that.

Please comment on the rest of the McCartneys (the ones outlined above), the Nimoy's, the Don Henleys, Roger Waters and Harrison Ford.  All of which have been presented here and shown to have serious issues.  Led Zeppelin will be next, so please don't take that page down too.

Be mad at me all you want Stephen, I'm only here for answers, so far you haven't delivered any.

Mike,

Give this discussion the time it needs to be thorough and fair.

Steve thorough and fair sounds great, but Stephen has been asked to comment on these particular autographs (now with studies) repeatedly, and he has ignored every request.

He did however find the time to lash out at Mike T.

This is thorough and fair?

He may be confused over what the concept of in person is, he may have been slick enough to pass himself off as the end all be all music collector. He also has been caught out without even an attempted explanation.

Anyone using his "museum" as a reference gallery deserves what they get.

That is me being as Thorough and Fair as I can be.

Pete - you appear frustrated at Stephen Duncan's recent response to MikeT and perhaps to his responses overall.  I'm not sure I understand why you'd be surprised.  Help me understand.

It baffles my mind that anyone in this hobby as a collector or seller can blatantly ignore questions about material that they own. Requests for information about if he got material in person are passed over. Scans of known authentic samples are provided alongside his so called in person signed items, and the questions are asked again, and ignored again.

Everyone but Mr. Duncan seems to care about his reputation, everyone wants to be fair and thorough.  Mr. Duncan doesn't seem to care about either. If items in my collection were questioned, you can be damn sure I would answer any and all posed. Without a song and dance about "I forgot the dates,"  or some other nonsense.

Mr. Duncan calls his material "in person signed", the images say otherwise. Mr. Duncan refuses to even discuss the material questioned. Mr. Duncan had a reputation as a great music autograph collector, but it seems that is a title that is fading fast.

Christopher, I'm not sure that I can help you understand my frustration in this matter.....maybe it is just that I have been thru it so often that nothing should surprise me anymore.

It is pretty sad that so many knowledgeable people are letting this guy slide on this matter.
