Hey guys,

I recently bought this and was wondering what the experts think.  I didn’t pay much for it, but I’m a big band fan.

Great work Eric certainly ones to avoid.  I would be very suspect of anything coming from the same source.

Thanks Scott.

Two of the Band members including Rick, Robbie & then “The Hawk”— Ronnie H., have virtually 4 identical Capital R’s (including the 4th in Robbie’s last name).  The only 2 that seem to be trending to their modern day signatures (even remotely), include both Helm and Hudson.  I haven’t seen many authenticated Richard Manuel signatures anywhere on the web.  Garth Hudson a few years back signed the Record Store Day “Basement Tapes” Vinyl/Pink Sleeve Edition and then “handstamped” the Vinyl/Blue Sleeve editions which are both on eBay.  Robbie’s modern signature looks nothing like this retro one on the album page.  His book signing from last year with “Testimony” is very different and also one can compare his pre- “Testimony” book signing “Hiawatha” childrens book.  Levon always has a neat basic signature along with the unique letter “L”.  Finally, Danko, is the second hardest signature to obtain after Manuel (who committed suicide in ‘86 in a hotel room & Levon found him & cut him down).  Danko died in 1999.  On Rick’s first Arista solo LP after the “Last Waltz” breakup, he signed several promo Vinyl copies of his self-titled debut “Rick Danko”.  These also pop up from time to time on eBay too.  Although this is described as an early era Band/Hawks album page, it doesn’t appear to be authentic in my opinion.

Check out this Levon Helm and Rick Danko that ended a little while ago for 2 exemplars.

Robbie’s signed “Hiawatha” children’s book:

Garth Hudson “Record Store Day” Stamped ‘a la Jimmy Page’ signature Vinyl (Blue edition):

Finally, these “Record Store Day” Pink editions are actually hand signed by Garth; however, currently there isn’t a live auction where the seller shows the actual signature in a picture, but this is the signed edition:

Here is a Band set list gotten at the Newport folk festival early 1990s i believe. Don't know if Robbie was with them at this show. Any idea who wrote set list?

Robbie never played again with the remaining 4/then 3 (Manuel ‘86 death) after after 1976 Waltz Farewell, but joined Danko and Hudson for their Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction in the 1990’s; however, Levon refused to go and play with Robertson there.  I’m not sure of the handwriting here and with this set list.

you can't match the set list handwriting to any band members?  The "R" don't match up?

Also, did Robbie play with band in 89 at juno awards?

Am I reading this correctly - "Best Wishes - Dorseey Burneetee"? It looks like it came out of the same autograph book as the item in the OP.
