Being auctioned. These look like classic autopen examples to me. Or am I missing something?!

So the writer of the itv News article must have seen that it was the same photo and signatures, and assumed that it had to be the same item.
"A Star is Born" - real or not. Unfortunate. Willful ignorance + greed.
Well in a way the Halifax assertion is correct they are “authentic facsimile signatures”.
I saw the antiques roadshow one. It doesn't look the same to me; smaller (but still larger than a postcard), and the signature placement looks different.
Placement seems different again, but just one look at the closeup of the Ringo and it is obvious this is not hand signed but a facsimile. Looks just like the type produced by the Star Trek fan club - the same blue and broken appearance. Antiques Roadshow is memorable for authenticating a 1962 Titanic Historical Society reprint menu as the real thing despite the clear markers in place to prevent this. For one, the paper was wrong in several ways. Further, genuine First-Class menus had embossed features (like the White Star Line burgee or the initials O.S.N.C.) that were difficult or expensive to replicate in a simple 1960s/70s reprint. This did not prevent an evaluation of $75,000 to $100,000 on the show...
Wow. That is amazing - same signatures again and no sign of cross over to be found. The qualities I am talking about are all but lost in screencap but still one can see the dead quality.
These look like stamped autographs to me. And yes, there are a lot of these.
New Description and estimate of £700 - £1,000! :-)
"The Beatles 1963 Signed Full Band Photograph Autograph Signature etc..
This is a similar photograph to the TV Times 1963 issue that was available around the Christmas of that year, but the provenance from the family, given that the vendor's Dad was working for Melody Maker music magazine at the time, was that this shot was taken by him and that the signatures were taken at the time by him after a live performance and after asking the band for their signatures..
The signatures do however bear a resemblance to a number of comparable examples and signed pieces online, inc an example appraised within a recent UK TV edition of Antiques Roadshow, plus the TV Times '63 signed poster, which was a facsimilie copy of course..
However the signature placement here is slightly different, plus is on card and isnt a poster. Happy bidding!"
We sent a good mixture of hard facts. :-)
So it probably was the family trying to squeeze an extra $5-7k out through a fancy story.
I would ask why the Beatles in particular attracts these kinds of shenanigans from sellers, but I already know the answer.
I wonder if there is a genuine signed photo that fits with the original story. And the OP was meant to try and pass this off as the real deal while someone has the genuine photo hidden away?
I was wondering about that too. Eric posted a link to the 2/2/63 entry in the Beatles Bible, and there’s actually a matching story including the size of the photo. Obviously, if the item exists it would be a completely different photo containing a different signature style.
