hello!

i was a music journo beginning in 1990 and often times found myself alone backstage at enormous music festivals. this particular one was Gathering of the Tribes and Soundgarden was performing, one of my favorites at the time. i'd already seen them a handful of times and they always put on a hell of a show. i was actually crowd surfed on by Chris Cornell at the stone in SF and he kicked me in the head with his boot, ah memories! so anyway i'm at GotT and Chris is by himself watching the show from above the stage. i approached him said hello, we talk a bit (i recalled he really smelled of BO but i thought it was hot hahah) and he signed my cassette tape fold out. he did thank me personally (thanks sara) and i was curious if that devalues a signed item (not that i'd ever sell it but curious) anyway a few of the other boys walked up and signed as well and it was such a calming lovely experience. i was truly saddened to hear he has committed suicide, it was a huge loss. anyway, just wanted to share my autographs.

the second photo was was from an event a few years later.

thanks for for letting me share!

Hi Sara

Very nice items, I don't think the inscription devalues your item it just shows strong provenance of how you obtained the graphs.

Very cool , I'd buy them with the inscription. I seen soundgarden in 97 and was looking forward to catching a tour in Australia but time had it's way.

thank you for the reply Paul. it's crazy to think on all those years as a music writer i had so many opportunities to get autographs but it never crossed my mind back then. well except Soundgarden but even that was a fluke. i wrote for a good 15 years and met just about everyone who's tours brought them through the San Francisco area. the memories i feel are bittersweet now as many who i met have died but i wouldn't change any of it for the world. hope you are staying safe amidst all the madness in our world right now. take care!

the purple Cornell signature is great also. He's hit that crazy fast.

hahaa right!? he probably had hundreds to sign.
