I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998.  Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia.  For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph.  I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998.  My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams.  I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

The answer is..... you do what works for you.

I have a poster that has nothing but main cast and I have a poster that has main cast plus a single representative autograph from each type of "other character" Cantina Creature Greedo, Imperial Motti, Rebel Biggs, Alien Jawa, Family Uncle Owen. I have a third poster that is just a Jam of minor characters without the big names of the main cast.

Thanks Pete!

Reading your question again, I really should mention that if you have a poster signed by the whole living main cast.....adding random speaking imperials or random background characters will not add value to your item.....if you are looking for an investment type piece.

You jam up a poster too much and no one will want it, nor will they pay anymore for it.

and keep in mind, a really nice complete poster ....dragged out to every show for stormtrooper #37, #38, and #39 will only be in a place to see damage done to it, either by handling or misfiring pens.

Every new autograph added to a valuable piece is like playing Russian Roulette. Anything can happen.

Sounds like you've got an unbelievable collection. Could I ask, what would you say one or two of the jewels of it are?

I wouldn't even know where to start. I sold off better than half of my collection about 12 or 13 year ago, and I have been slowly rebuilding it.  Star Wars, Godfather, Game of Thrones, Marvel, Bruce Willis films, Askewniverse, Buffy, Firefly, and most modern celebs. If they are worth having.....I probably have them.

Was able to add Kenny Baker to my 11x14 poster at what turned out to be his last show. Thanks to Mark Roberts for letting me send it with his items. Helped us both on postage to England. I almost waited until November when he was doing a rare US show in Rhode Island. Very glad that I didn't. RIP Mr. Baker, you will be missed greatly!

Congratulations Mark. I was concerned about shipping my item overseas and was therefore waiting for Rhode Island Comic Con to add his autograph to it. You made the wiser decision. May the Force be with him.
I came very close to doing the same thing, Mike. Being able to pool items with Mark really helped make it an easy decision.
I would stick to the main cast characters on the movie poster in order to prevent overcrowding. You can always add minor cast characters to your collection on separate 8x10 images.

Just in from OPX signing...

Carrie Fisher added to pic previously signed by James Earl Jones.

Very nice Steve.  What are the dimensions of the photo?

Just picked this up from an IP collector on another forum for a good price.
