Linen backing is a great way to preserve and restore posters. What are your thoughts on linen backing an autographed poster? Does it take away from it's value???

I am very comfortable with the linen backing. Then again, I collect posters (especially cassandre and capiello) in general. Signed and unsigned. Just my opinion....
Thanks Daniel. Good to get your insight
Do you have an original Kieser Stuttgart poster signed by Hendrix?? :) Curious what you have...
I do not. Mostly venue posters, which have been not treated well. Some Clash, Charlatans, Depeche Mode....that sort of stuff...some fully sight, others not
My favorite type. Love the woodstock era BG posters too! Poster restoration is actually very affordable, relative to fine art.
Concert posters signed by Hendrix are almost as rare as hen’s teeth. That one would be worth a fortune.
No doubt! The original Gunther Kieser advertising posters (as opposed to merchandising posters) are highly desirable. To the best of my knowledge, a Hendrix signed version of this iconic poster has never come to auction.
Yes, I’d be thrilled with an unsigned one. What an amazing image.
I did not want to spend $15-20k for it so settled on the merchandising poster. Its still a great piece to own!
There's so many variations of this poster its crazy and the value from a few hundred to tens of thousands
Just like the BG posters, you need to know what to look for. To the best of my knowledge, there is only one original advertising poster with the Jan 19 1969 date (available in two sizes) for the Stuttgart show. This was printed for only about two weeks.
Mine is the original 1969 merchandising poster, 25 1/4” x 35.25”, printed by Darien House. Paid $600 for in probably about 10 years ago. I would guess $2000-$3000 today.
If done properly with the appropriate materials I don't see how this established practice could anything but a plus to me - stability/strength has been improved etc.
