Google the following...William Linehan uacc....and tell me what you think.

Most are fairly good. There has been some bad apples. But, the best solution is to ask about a particular signature and ask for opinions on it specifically.

So I know no company is perfect but would a company that is a certified aftal and uacc dealer be reliable. Because I know that to be a registered dealer there is a strict code of ethics

I used to have tremendous respect for AFTAL, and many of their members are as good as it gets. But I have lost respect for AFTAL since 2012, specifically because they have not removed Marc McLennan/Sport and Star Autographs and a few other similar dealers that have sold a lot of questionable autographs.

I consider Sport and Star about as bad as it gets. There you have it.

Hi

I am on the UACC Board of Directors.

No dealer is perfect and there is no organization that can guarantee every item sold by its dealers. That said, UACC Registered Dealers have gone through a vetting process and have agreed to abide by a code of ethics. If there is a dispute, as a buyer there is a framework in place to assist you.

I hope this helps.
Thanks Steve so say hypothetically an autograph I purchased was fake. The uacc would reimburse me

That is a very good question John. I along with you and many others are interested in just  what happens in that circumstance.

I can bet your dollars to donuts that the answer will be NO from Steve and his group. But let's wait and see shall we??

The UACC will not reimburse you but they can take action to get the seller to refund your money. The seller can be expelled from the organization. PSA/DNA, JSA, nor any other organization will pay up if there is a problem either. What you seem to want in terms of an absolute guarantee does not exist anywhere. The UACC does, at least, monitor their sellers and get rid of the ones that don't conduct themselves correctly.

Personally, it doesn't matter who I purchase an autograph from. We, as individuals are responsible to do some homework and research before we make a major purchase from anyone regardless of their affiliation. I would suggest you ask about a specific seller, autograph, or get opinions here before you buy. It will save you a potential headache down the road.

So the punitive action taken by UACC to shame such an individual plus the absolute scrutiny such a seller would have to endure on THIS forum for example  should be enough to keep most on the straight and narrow.

It's the sellers reputation at stake. Normal people don't want to be the object of attack that would be triggered by shady practices. So in conclusion allow me to state clearly that UACC members are  o.k. in my book!

its a shame some people are so bitter about others success, i see it time and time again on here, as i said in another thread i have bought from the Company  Sport and Star over the years and never had a problem, please remember Steve Cyrkins opinion is just that his opinion, i am sure there are many satisfied customers that would not agree with him, and thats my opinion.

The seller is sport and star ltd
