I often get very confused as to why some of these buyers just can't seem to understand how many forgeries are in the marketplace. So today, I am looking on eBay and I see a guy with a TON.....of signed trading cards, index cards, etc. He has every big name athlete in the book.
Jeter, Mantle, Montana, Favre, DiMaggio, Lebron, Jordan, Kobe, etc. ( HE HAS SOLD TONS OF EACH PLAYER )
Do you really think that Kobe Bryant just happened to sign 52 index cards for this seller? Do you really think that Puig is happy to sign 100 base Topps cards? It isn't even realistic. Anyone who has ever graphed ( or tried to graph ) knows that the odds of getting an autograph in person from even a minor star can be a challenge.........Getting someone like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Derek Jeter, Puig, Harper, Lebron, Kobe, Jordan...........EXTREMELY HARD! I had to go to 7 Atlanta Braves games to finally get Greg Maddux to sign for me back in the 90's. That was before the players knew how big the memorabilia market is. NOW IT IS MUCH HARDER!
JUST DO A SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON WITH PSA AND JSA AUTHENTICATED EXAMPLES AND 97% OF THE FORGERIES ON EBAY ARE EASILY IDENTIFIABLE. If you are going to spend hundreds or thousands on an autograph.....Do a little research

Some buyers never think and sellers know buyers see a $0.99 start and think they are getting a great deal.
they prey on the uneducated, of which there are many.
Jason, who is the Ebay seller?
The majority of wannabe autograph collectors on Ebay think that Ebay "would never allow forgeries to be listed and sold on their auction site."
And we all know that Ebay has profited millions from the sales of forgeries for the past twenty years.
Most people just believe ebay is a safe place to buy items and often only check a sellers feedback. The fault is on ebay to allow this to go rampant on their site. They will often remove copyright infringement items, recalled toys but do not seem to give a rat's ass on the millions of forgeries on their site. I believe the money matters more to them then protecting the ebay autograph buyers. Granted buyer's are in the end responsible for themselves and sometimes they never learn the fact that they have only bought fakes. I myself have learned a lot since I started.
