Talk to the dealer you bought it from. Who is the dealer?

jg autographs , who are going to say its genuine

Alan,

The autograph is unusual, with the two separations in Muhammad, but I don't know whether it's good or not. Others here have stronger opinions than me on it, and study Ali more than I do. I think JG will want to resolve this fairly, and may even give you a refund whether they think it's bad or not. They are a good outfit, and all dealers make mistakes from time to time. It's the nature of the hobby. So contact them, tell them your concerns and see what they do.

IMO, JG is a reputable dealer who takes authenticity seriously. Maybe they made a mistake... I don't know.

I would contact them with my concerns and give them an opportunity to respond before concluding they won't be of any assistance.

Any chance you could post the picture up again on here ?

I and many other Dealers have known and dealt with Jared in excess of 10 years and have always found him an honourable man. He will undoubtedly know from where it originated and that will have a huge bearing on others opinions too. Just because Companies have cornered the Market with Ali signings over the past decade tends to make some collectors forget just how long Ali has been signing autographs and long before he was paid to sign them. I have got him In Person in the 70's, 80's and 90's the last time being in the foyer of the Savoy Hotel in 1999 when he came over to be presented with the Sportsman of the Century award and there are such variances that only I know for sure they are genuine. Talk to the man he will do the right thing by you I'm sure.

I remember this. I commented about the signature breaks being unusual.

I would seek an opinion from Shawn Anderson at AliAutos.net.

He has a good reputation and he has a very reasonable fee for an online opinion: http://www.aliautos.net/opinionservice.html

If he says it is okay, I'd be comfortable with it. If not, then escalate to JG.

Just my 2 cents.

I was going to give this advice as well. I recently purchased an opinion before buying an Ali auto, and I found him to be very professional, courteous and thourough. This guy knows his stuff, and if he says it's okay along with it coming from J&G, I'd be happy with it. Bring up the breaks in the signature and see what he says.

This is by far the best person to ask. Its like $15 . JG wont give you any problems about returning items. Ive never had to return anything Ive bought off them . But I know the guy is a stand up guy and will gladly take it back .

Zipper, his site is the one I look at to compare Ali signature examples from the 60's forward.  it is very well done, and a very good reference.
