Where have all of the vintage Hollywood collectors gone?

One thing I've noticed recently on the board is that collectors of vintage/classic Hollywood seemed to be missing in action. Or maybe posts are not gaining traction and getting buried in discussions?  I do miss the sharing and opinioning of that kind of material.

Joe W., Karloff and Chaney Jr. are available….

They would make great additions to my collection. I can visualize some nicely matted pieces.

Joe W., With Lon you get others….

Etienne, I am still here too….Just been busy getting ready for eBay and some person to person interaction. These two exemplars are from one book….Natalie is about 13 years of age...

Wow!  Some pretty heavy hitters there, David.   I was hoping you hadn't jumped ship with some of the recent shift in emphasis here on the board.

Etienne, I have never cared which way the wind shifts when it comes to collectables. The cream always comes out on top. You never sent me a memo there was a shift?

David, just check out the activity here on the board over the last couple of months. I suppose I am learning the names of modern musicians who I had never heard of before. Even digging over pages of recent posts finds nearly no discussion of our shared interests.

I certainly think to each his own and don't begrudge anyone their tastes.  Having said that, I guess I've officially arrived in the fuddy-duddy minority in the autograph world!

Etienne, Welcome to the club….It is hard enough tracking exemplars and prices to keep current with the vintage and historic names that I care about. I don't have the time to worry about the latest up and comers. Maybe that would be different if I were still flying out to LA 4 or 5 times a year to collect….I have not been to the far coast in 7 years….

Nick,

When presented with a piece of art that was...not very goood ,Vincent Price (knowledgeable art lover and collector) would simply say "Ah! Interesting."

Lol, that’s great!

More people on the site should join the Vintage Hollywood Entertainment Wanted and Entertainment for Sale groups, the only post on the wanted page at the moment is my Buster Keaton post (Still looking for one!).
