I was so sad to hear that Whitney Houston passed away. In recent years, when I heard or saw Houston I thought of Billie Holiday, who died at only 44 due to the effects of drug addiction. An addiction that also stemmed from her relationship with her partner, as did Houston's from Bobby Brown. It breaks my heart that my fears about her came true.

As fans and autograph collectors, celebrities live on through our stories of meeting them and their autographs.

Did you ever meet Whitney Houston?

Do you have her autograph?

Please tell your story. Celebrate her life.

Thanks

In earlier years Whitney Houston had been rather kind to autograph collectors.

On 11th July 2004 she signed in Dortmund following photograph

with a beautiful Peace and smily sketch which was usual for her earlier years (see reference example below without exact signing provenance).

In 2009 she was getting more difficult to obtain personally but following two examples are obtained In-Person in October in Paris

where you could see that signature changed slightly and you hardly get the "Peace" dedication and "smile" sketch anymore.

Unfortunately the last time she went to Berlin 2010  she refuse to sign autographs.

Whitney Houston refused to sign autographs when she left the Hotel de Rome in Berlin on 13th May 2010 in Berlin. However she was kind to autograph collector's the previous night as she signs before her concert at the "O2 World". Markus - good show as there are going to be non-authentic ones coming out of the woodwork as typically happens when someone of this fame dies.

Here is a very early signature of hers probably from late 1987.

Thanks, Rog.

I met Whitney in Stockholm, Sweden in the mid 90s. It was during the period she signed Whitney B. She was very nice but had a lot of security. (Two body guards for three fans.)

This example that I'm showing is a rare full signature that was signed for a Swedish radio host. (I bought the record from him a few years ago.)

I was lucky enough to get Whitney several times around LA.  I've never seen a full signature like this but Im sure if you asked her she would add it for you.  Sometimes all you have to do is ask.  My new thing is asking actors to write a quote from the movie that they are pictured in.  It works.

Bjarne,

That is an excellent sig!!!

Wish I had one like that :)

Thanks! I found one more in my closet when I was cleaning. But that one was only signed Whitney.... I will post a picture another day.

Great! We need more Whitney exemplars.

Here is a 45 record signed by Whitney from the 80's

Bjarne...

Please do...this discussion is making want to get a Whitney (real of course) sig :)

hello steve.....its funny sometimes that one forgets exactly what they do have in their collection until moments like this sad event.    checking back through my archives i found an autographed picture of whitney and 3 other ladies that i had bought for 8 dollars in 2009.  the picture shows whitney with bare feet which is different.  would like to show it but not sure how to send the picture.  any advice.   thanks.....carl.
