Does anyone have knowledge on Kendrick Lamar's full name signature. This piece is currently on eBay. I just ran a quick opinion from PSA/DNA and they said "unlikley Genuine" I hope the community can…Continue

I recently purchased on E-Bay a signed (Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Lori Petty,Madonna, Rosie ODonnel) cast photo from the movie " League of Their Own" authenticated by CPG Direct. Has anybody heard of them and should I be concerned on authentication?
OPERATION BULLPEN !!!!! I would again alert everybody John Olsen , is on Craigslist in the NY/NJ area peddling Muhammad Ali signed pictures.
Well, that bad UK George Reeves signature sold today on ebay for $200+.
I notified ebay but they did nothing, as usual. Sad, but ebay makes money on it so they allow it to continue.
Thank you very much for the generous advice that has been given & has been taken on board. Much appreciated. I think the remark about going with your gut instinct is spot on. Thanks again.
Let me echo David's response, Michelle. PSA/DNA is the name that many go by when considering a purchase of a nice high quality item. I also want to give a plug to James Spence Authentication (JSA.) JSA also has a good reputation, but has made mistakes like PSA/DNA has. I personally have used both companies to authenticate some of my autographs. Always trust your gut, and feel free to put some things up on here and ask our little community of collectors who want to keep junky fake autographs out of the market.
Hi from NZ Michelle, I think the more you search the web the more you will find the spectrum of stories from those that heap the highest praise on PSA and other TPAs (Third Party Authenticators) to those that can't find even a single good word to say about them and call them everything in a farmyard but a duck :)
At the end of the day, I think, you can only speak as you find - I have had my own differences with PSA opinions but have nothing but the highest regard for the professional manner in which they have handled the items I have sent them - and yes, that includes the ones that they have failed to authenticate :)
I don't believe the opinion of a TPA should replace the avid research and acquiring of knowledge of an individual collector. If you, or any collector, does his\her research on the signature and remains uncomfortable with something that carries ANY TPA certification then - my humble advice would be - don't part with you money. Look elsewhere and keep looking until you find something that you ARE confident in.
Wascher has also posted a truly superb comment when he advises "toss it out on the forum" here. There are soooooo many knowledgeable and helpful folks here at AML that you are just about guaranteed to get help on any of the items you might be "nervous" about.
Hope that helps, happy collecting and all best wishes,
David
Hi thanks for your reply. It was just a general query about them because they are not so well known over here & I've heard different views about them but I'm not an authority on the service because we don't have it here so I wasn't trying to be disrespectful about them; - I just don't know & thought I would enquire . A few of the signs I've seen on e bay sanctioned by them I've not been that sure about & I've also read some neg stuff about them so it was in this spirit that I e mailed for a bit more information re their importance/ reputation. I think that's a good idea about asking peoples advice about a sig before buying It will be my New Year's Res!!! Kind regards
