You may have noticed that the book "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeleine L'Engle will soon be a blockbuster movie from Disney. I loved that book when I was in elementary school, and I remember the author…Continue

Unfortunately, all you can do is report on here and other websites what you find to be questionable, and get the word out, because all that happens is SPOOKONE then becomes SPOOKONE2, then spooke65, and so on and so forth. It just never ends.

Dear fellow collectors!

Just spotted on EBay another scam, seller named SPOOKONE selling Sex Pistols full line up, signed in sharpie !!! This is a secon item, firs one he sold and it was Sex Pistols as well, full line up in sharpie for 25 quids !!!

When I asked about provinance he was so dumb to tell me that it has been obtained in the year 2006 what makes Sid Vicious supposedly resurected???

Can we do anything about this type of scammers???

Another BAD (in my humble yet learned opinion) George Reeves signature. I would not give 50 cents for it.  There seems to be one every month.

I just got an email from Al Wittnebert at UACC. He examined the scans and determined that the Cassavetes is, indeed, a fake. He's not sure about the Eastwood and offered no comment on the John Wayne.

You are so welcome. With it being a cross-country matter, too, it might get a little sticky, but like I said, stay the course. The wheels of justice is a little slow at times (I should know, I'm a probation officer,) but good always wins out in the end in some kind of way. Doesn't always seem like it, but it does.

Thanks, Jeffrey. Maybe I'll do that. I think it qualifies for "small claims court" here in New York. But I filed complaints with the California Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's Office as well as the UACC, who told me that LCG has been using the UACClogo without being a member and that UACC is pursuing leghal action against them. I'm hoping that with pressure from a few sides they'll just give up and try to sell the fakes to some other unknowing person. But Small Claims may be the way to go. Thanks.

That really sucks, Jay. As far as legal action, this might be a civil matter. You can go to your local State Court Clerk and see what they say. Each state is different. Then, just follow up with what they say. This would at the very least give you a starting point. It will eventually get complicated, but stay the course. $1,100 is not chump change.

Thank you so much for you input Jeffery, nice ball ! I wanted a single ball with all of the sigs too, but I can only afford to build a collection one baseball at a time. I was very lucky to find Jose Oliva and Mike Sharperson autographed baseballs for a reasonable price since they are deceased. Beauchamp is going to be very difficult to find as well.

OK, Rhonda....I can only educatedly speak about Mercker and Clontz. I got both in person on my 1995 World Series ball during Alumni Weekend in 2011. I've been working on this ball since 2008. In regards to Mercker, the dealsbygeorge looks the most similar to mine. Take a look...

Mercker is in between John Smoltz and Chipper Jones. And sorry about my ugly toe being in the way!

As for Clontz, I don't like the autographwarehouse example. Just doesn't look like mine. Take a look. Clontz is at the very top just below "Rawlings".....

These are just my opinions, based on what I have gotten in person. Hope this helps.
