Soldier in Afghanistan Needs Sports Authenticity Opinions

Soldier in Afghanistan Needs Sports Authenticity Opinions

A soldier in Afghanistan bought these sports autographs and would like to know what you think of them! Almost all have been authenticated, and I've either cropped the photos to remove the authentication stickers, or covered them.

Please only comment on authenticity when you feel confident in your opinion.

Thanks for helping one of our heroes in harm's way!

I hope that's where they end up as well. Anything to keep from having to get a real job themselves they sit on the internet ripping people off.

@Rick:
Can you upload large images when you get home? Put them in a different album.

Yes I sure will. My scanner isn't working so I'm charging my camera now. I will get them as close as I can. If you can't see them well enough I will take them down to the office tomorrow and good a super good scan of them. I should have them there within the hour.

Here is a very humorous article regarding 500 HR Club baseballs. Harmon Killebrew states this is not his signature. Exchange auction company and Ted Taylor claim he signed so many that they know his signature better then he does. AAFES......unbelievably in middle stick to their guns and side with the auction company and Ted Taylor.

This is a must read if interested in signed sports memorabilia:

hi guys,and hi to the soldier in afghanistan,i have been back from afghanistan around 2 years and im disabled due to an explosion.when i wasnt in the field on missions or convoy security,when we were at a f.o.b (foward operating base or fire base) with computer access i would purchase autographs.I got ripped off over 10 times by the senders not mailing them to my home and selling me forges.

I went through the same thing,its a shame that these people do this to us when were in harms way trying to get our minds off things by pursuing hobbys.I wasnt experienced in autographs that much and i trusted everyone thinking being a soldier in combat they wouldnt even think of ripping me off.They did,and they dont care.Please have the soldier contact me,i will help him out since i have been in the same situation.spc mike c

Sorry to say I do not like any these signatures, the "M"s in Mantle's signatures are much too exaggerated & elongated, the DiMaggio signatures exhibit slowness & work, especially in the "J"s, the others exhibit a neatness & effort of work not consistent with those signers.  Steve, feel free to put this young man in contact with me, and I'll try and help him out
