autographed copy of David Bowie's Hunky Dory album

Signed David Bowie album. Signed for BBC Producer in 1983.
QUITE FINE! Typical all over. There have been some poor but somewhat reasonable attempts (at least they looked at authentics) at "best wishes" and such recently on eBay. They are too bulbous or uneven and lack the scrawl look. Bowie has (generally) a controlled nervous/artsy(? Can I say that? Yes, I can) scrawl in his inscriptions that can also be luscious and curvaceous when he gets to the signature (usually). But the handwriting usually retains the scrawled look. This look changed much less than his actual signature. This "k" is very typical from what I have seen. This is "scrawl light" actually. This is a scary, serious, monstrous piece. Excellent contrast, placement, complimentary angle...the numerals all typical/exemplary. Superb.
I received my new Bowie (Ooh yeah! Uh-huh!) and will post it shortly. I am....pleased :)

Gotta say - this one of the best I have seen here. It even has the 2 marks - apostrophes(?) - by the date and whatever that is above the name. Usually only one is seen. Would I like this on Scary Monsters? Sure, but that's nuts. This is awesome. I can not think of any reasonable quality that could improve it. No, not my favorite cover - but darn close. But still...look at it. Dedication. Inscription. So clean and ordered. One of the few circumstances where I would agree with felt tip over black ballpoint. **** 4 stars.
Eric~
Thank you for your very kind words Eric. I too felt it was an excellent/strong piece (and this LP happens to contain my favorite Bowie song).
It has always been my assumption, correctly or not, that the mark above the line in his signature is the dot of the 'i' in Bowie.
Hi Nate.
If so, and I am sure you are correct, then it shrunk from the fully looped "dot" above his sig from years past. In any event, this is so strong.
But...what is your favorite song? I have been bust selecting the bets songs from each album. I will share my results if you like. Some surprising things. I saw him live more than I can recall - you? My best experience was front and center for Roseland Ballroom intimate Outside Ballroom Tour show. September 1996. And the 50th Birthday celebration. Last I saw was at Wantaugh right before he stopped in 2004 or so.
Eric
I can tell you my favorite is Life On Mars. Brings back many happy memories and proof, at least to me, that to make an amazing song lyrics don't have to make complete sense as long as the feeling and flow is there.
like...oh...the Bewlay Bothers (teeth of brass!), and so many more. Emotion is everything. I'm sure I saw Life on Mars somewhere/ sometime. I like Wild eyed, Teenage, Motel, Win, Station...and Ricochet which I feel underrated. Blackstar is a diamond and may well be his ultimate. Also You've been around is a clear precursor to the sounds of Outside. Pallas Athena also good. Both versions.
Eric
Great list Eric. I confess to my Bowie tastes being more, I suppose the word is 'mainstream', but that is exactly what makes the world go round!
Yes, I believe there were 3 or 4 albums signed for this BBC producer. A couple were quite 'rushed' from what I remember, but the one you have just posted and my one I think were/are the best (and for me I prefer mine, but that's because I prefer the album, but both are beautifully signed).
