I just had a question for anyone who might know. Does anybody know anything about AACS Autographs on the web? I did some research and could not find any derogatory comments about them, but their prices are so low I can't believe that the items are real. I would love to hear from somebody about this. Thanks.

They've been discussed here before. I"m not comfortable with their autographs, but I mostly have only checked entertainment and music.

Thank you Steve,. I am new here and wasn't aware they had been a previous topic. WWhen you say that you are not comfortable are you saying that some of their items are questionable rather than them just being a fraudulent auction house like ARA? And the fact is that the music items are the ones that I have been interested in. Do you suggest I just stay away from them? Thanks again.

Thanks for joining, Charles. Type AACS in the search box to read other conversations about them. But I didn't think any of the music and entertainment autographs on their site that I looked at were genuine. I didn't look at everything though, and I'm not an expert. PSA/DNA has a $10 QuickOpinion service for items at auction--and on eBay items it's only $7.50. It's damned good--use it before you bid or pay for an item (depending on an auction's rules).

As a rule of thumb, when a dealer's or auction's prices seem like bargains, be extremely suspicious. If their Kurt Cobain signed sheet music was genuine it would probably go for $1000 plus. A Clapton signed album is worth a few hundred--you could sell them to dealers all day long for $150-$200.

Collectors that shop for bargains generally get burned--unless the items are certified by respected authenticators or you're buying from a well respected dealer or auction.

Frankly, I'm very surprised AACS is a UACC Registered Dealer. I think it was a mistake.

AACS Registered Dealer RD208 - Expelled 02/11 for numerous violations of the UACC Policies and Code of Ethics.

Speaking of AACS - when one can't sell banned items on EBAY there will always be AACS (Current auction) for ACE items.  Someone can't really think they can scoop these 2 for $10 & $20 & think they are authentic!  Maybe someone is just buying the ruler.
