Very well organized, very spacious, clearly marked artists tables, and a pretty fair cross selection of some of Rock and Roll's best supporting cast of musicians and even those lead singers, from some of our generations biggest rock bands. This was the scene on Saturday September 14, 2013 (and Sunday September 15th) at the L.A. Rock and Roll Autograph Show, held at the Westin LAX Airport Hotel in Los Angeles.
Though not every table was a house hold name, the house was still very much packed with so many names from those bands that paved the way and carved AM and FM radio and filled concert arena's during the 1960's through 1980's. There was a bit from each decade and a variety for any collecting/collector age. Founder Corky Byer, indeed pulled it off (and pulled it off so well), in the first ever such show dedicated just to R&R, held here in L.A.
For me, my 2 Dog Night drum head now is an official 3 Dog Night drum head with the addition of Chuck Negron. Being a fan of drummers, obtaining signatures and photos of Carmine Appice and Artimus Pyle, was as well a tremendous thrill.
Here's hoping that this very one of a kind show will be just the first of another (and hopefully even more) in 2014 and beyond by Corky, his staff and so many other artists that should attend these type of gatherings, and can all come together for a weekend of fun and music, and the best way for true fans to obtain autographs.

The concert after the show last night was fantastic. The signers jammed with various others well into the night thus having many of the signers getting to their tables late on Sunday. Mark Farner and Black Oak Arkansas were the highlights of the night for me.
I saw the lineup a couple of months ago and was disappointed that I would not be able to make it back to California for this. You mention Artimus Pyle, who I have met before and is one of the most personable guys you could ever meet, but I have been trying to catch up with Lynyrd Skynrd drummer Bob Burns for several years. How was he? Carmine has also been very nice about signing in the past.
For me, I really didn't mingle much. I was there for about 5 musicians and after that, and talking to some other autograph buddies, I had to split (personal plans that late afternoon). Corky invited me as his guest for the concert, but, I had do decline. (the wife would have been "peeved" if I blew her off that night.....).
