Check out the below forged Mantle/Maris photo sold by Ebay seller Alsop_us for a whopping $54.00.

Does the person who bought this, really think they purchased an authentic set of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris autographs for $54.00!!!

Crap like this sells because Ebay is so heavily-populated with delusional autograph collectors and impulse buyers.

Also, Ebay does not care.  It is only about the money.

People have this pre-conceived notion that Ebay filters out forgeries.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  Ebay makes a ton of money from the sales of forgeries.
