This comes after saying that the threat of him being assassinated is very high and a legit threat. His security detail is quite present in the video, showing that he's taking threats very seriously.

Prior to his announcement, Elon was a willing signer when you could find the elusive tech billionaire out or at airports. Items signed by Musk sell between $2,000-$6,000.
