Check out the below two forged autographed photos of Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio.

Both come with a COA from GFA.

As of today, I still have yet to observe an authentic autograph with a COA from GFA.

The below are mass-produced forgeries out of Florida.

These images are one of the first when we first observed them at the following websites:

1.  AlwaysAtAuction.com

2.  AtAuction.com

3.  AAFES

These are basically copies produced on inkjet paper.

So the inkjet piece with Joe D in it is a reasonable facsimile of original signatures?  Because if it were live ink, I would think it was good.  The other photo just looks bad.  Thanks for posting.

The Dimaggio is a forgery

Doug, those images above were, in my opinion, mechanically-penned.

I believe that the majority of those that we first observed over a decade ago, cheaply framed, were mechanically-penned.

But, even if mechanically penned, still based on forgeries.

All depends how you look at it, Steve.  The mechanism they used did attempt to emulate authentic Mantle, DiMaggio, Williams, etc., autographs.

My first thought back in 2011 when I first observed these, was that they used some kind of plotter.

Back in the day when I first got in computers, all programs were on keypunch cards and data was sorted on 9-track tape, etc.  So you know how far I go back, but we also used a plotter machine.

I still feel the templates  for the various forgeries were produced on some type of plotter.

I hear what you are saying.  Are you referring to the two pictures shown above?  That’s what I’m going by.  The Mantle signatures are copies of forgeries as you know.  Both of the Ted Williams signatures may have been attempts to copy a legit signature.  And the Dimaggio on the top photo may have been an attempt to copy a legit signature, but both the attempts on the Williams and the Dimaggio show distinct areas that are not how either of them wrote certain letters in their name.  Do those areas look different because of the method the person used in the copying attempt, perhaps?

With the plotter I worked with, we were able to change placement.

Whatever similar method they used, it probably had the ability to change the placement of the forgery on the inkjet paper so that they didn't look like "identical" copies.

The above mass-produced set of Mantle/Williams forgeries with a worthless COA from GFA  sold for $550.00 (Best Offer accepted).  Imagine paying $550.00 for copies of forgeries produced on inkjet paper.

Should have just thrown the money directly into the garbage can!

So true, Steve!!!  $550.00 for that garbage.
