MICKEY MANTLE AUTHENTIC EXEMPLARS... READ ALL ABOUT IT!

I just wanted to post these here to see what Fudd the Lowly Mantle Collector can do to help stop the flood of forgeries into the market place. The goal is that we can all start educating ourselves before we buy. To see what a beautiful signature the Mick had, and to learn to distinguish it from the obvious forgeries at first glance. Something TTA, STAT, DREW MAX, GAI GLOBAL (Baker certs) My Favorite Players Reborn (Tony Podsada) & Christopher Morales can't seem to do....at all? You will almost never see a signature in this photo album collection that would match or come close to anything that has been certed by any of those guys. Maybe you'll find 1 in a 1000 if you're lucky. To tell the difference between what an original hand signed Photo by the Mick looks like vs. an obvious Fake at first glance is easy. Give it a try. It's Fun!

As has been told many times, The Mick made more in one signing than his dad did in 1 year. He felt obligated to his fans to give them a "work of art". He did this by signing on just the right spot for the particular photograph he was presented. The size of his signature was determined by how big the sweet spot was. He knew EXACTLY how to fit his signature in so it looked perfect. A thing of beauty really. Please note that these are not all the same signature over and over, but merely a sample from my collection. What I do know is that these are consistent with the WAY Mantle signed and structured his Autograph as we know it. Good luck! FUDD

Once again it is just a beautiful piece...no question...I think it was really more a price issue then anything....I had it for a screen saver for quite some time...but all and all that price is just not right...I think I may go as high as 8

The prices you guys are saying are too high, is actually the norm for a lot of us who aren't dealers. Well, on the sites I've been to anyway. Those of you who aren't dealers, where do you buy your merchandise ? I look for reputable companies, but some of them are outrageous. Steiner is one of them. They have "sales" often, but their "regular" prices are so high that you would still wind up paying more for it on "sale" than anywhere else.

Hi Rhonda - Don't worry about the price... you got a good one and if you hold it long enough, you won't lose money on it. :-)

I was talking about for future purchases of autographed memorabilia.  : )

ebay can be great if you have confidence in your ability to assess the material. I also like to buy directly from other collectors on sites like Net54. Richard Simon Sports is a dealer I'd recommend.

I have zero experience a far as the real and fake signatures go, that's why I stick to the more reputable and known places. I will definitely check out your other two suggestions. Thank you !

"ebay can be great if you have confidence in your ability to assess the material" there cant be a better quote then what Mr.Zipper just dropped right here...If you know your stuff and what to look for you can get good items not even certified if you know what your purchasing...

I would also like to add Richard Simon Sports as well on eBay and richardsimonsports.com I have purchased from him before and all his items I have ever seen sports wise are genuine...as you already know about steinersports.com and last but not least millcreeksports on eBay is another seller I recommend to every one as well to bid with confidence...I can jot down a couple of sellers I deal with all the time that have strictly genuine pieces...but of course there not cheap
