Holy smokes! I can tell from the scan alone it's a rubber stamp.

The same good people who bring you instant opinions, $200 appraisals, auction certificates, blah blah blah.

Koschal may be "off the air" now, but whenever he pointed out PSA's bad calls, he was on the mark.

Have they ever, ever responded on this forum? Have they ever withdrawn a COA? Have they ever responded anywhere, really?

Yet their "certificates" supposedly add value to an item. Just shows where this hobby has gone.

Anyone want to buy a bridge?

Ebay has removed this item, not the first time they have removed PSA certed items.

Steve - you seem to have a good relationship with ebay. Don't you think perhaps that you can ask them about this item.

The thought did cross my mind that it is a scam by the seller because the entry in PSA's database only calls the item a cut signature and does not identify the signer.

Can you find out Steve?

What would eBay know about this, Richard? Except that it was likely removed through their Enhanced Member Reporting program.

You can call PSA customer service, give them the number and they should be able to tell you who the listed signer is. I think all services should have photos of what they certify online, but that seems to be asking too much.

Sorry my bad for trying to do three things at once.

I meant contact PSA, you seem to have a relationship with them.

I am actually surprised by this. I am not touting the virtues of PSA in any way, in fact, I am not one of the believers, but as Harry said, I could tell from the scan when Richard first posted this that it was a stamp.  How can ANYONE that sees it first hand NOT know, let alone someone that is getting paid a lot of money to render an opinion.  maddening.

Joe Orlando passed along the following with regards to the EBAY pulled item.  I'm presuming although commuicated back to me the offer would stand for those most interested;

If you want to pick up the phone and talk - here's my number - 949-567-1170.

Here's one that I have always assumed was a stamp, but It doesn't match the other one exactly? What do you guys think?....

or a fascimle like the one above but what's puzzeling is they know his "handwritting" or I suppose we can call it handwriting;

Comment by terrier8HOF on June 22, 2012 at 4:54pm

That "handwriting" was his post accident signature.  they fitted him with a special glove, and he was able to hold the pen and sign. he signed balls, photos etc.  that one below is one of the worst.  they were typically a little neater than that.
