While growing up as a kid, and watching the old black and white tv-shows. i got to see thee funnest Clown of All time. The Red Skelton Show was so funny to watch him and his movies. Wow ! And then to See Red in Color in the early 70's and him on Johnny Carson late night. And his painting art work , music and his School. He was so Gifted and Talented man, for me to think someday i'd love to meet this man. But thanks to my dear aunts, which one has just passed away in 2009. They took me to see Red in Downtown Columbus, Ohio.Around 1974 to go to Reds Live Show. Then to some way just go for a Drink of water and meet him coming out of his Dressing room. Being 15 years old and your hero in front of you that was so Awsome. Then too hold the water for him in that hall way. With his Hugh Fur Coat and that Big Cigar in hand and that calm and low voice of his. Just what a kid needed from his Hero.

Then to walk and talk to him and go out on the stage he was just on, and them hugh Red curtains open up.All those who waitted for him to come out , which was just a hand full. And for my aunts to look up and see me with Mr.Skelton. That was a Thrill for everyone. To hold items from his little black leather bag he carried with him. Things he had collected from all over the world From kings & Queens and so many Great People that loved him and his Talent. Then to hold a little glass bottle, That the Pope gave him way back when he said. It always helped him to have peace within and to know everything is a Blessing. A piece of wood from the Cross of Christ that is what was inside that bottle. How Awsome is that, a Holy moment for all of us there talking to him and Sharing with all of us his stories.

After that night i really wated to collect Red stuff, and why not. I was working in the family business and saving my money. Borrowing from my brother and paying him back also.Just to buy Reds Lithos and Paintings , all his art work, books and music ect... And too go on and meet him and talk a few more times when he came to Columbus. I was even part of a Clown Group that Red was The Special guest for a Columbus Day Parade. That was a joy for me at the age of 35 then. I even got some black and white photos of Red from Cleveland Ohio, age 8 years old. I had to have it. And i spent a ton of money. Then after all i went through and my lost for my son Andy age 12, the Red passing away also. I still have the paintings and somethings . When your poor and broke and in pain and suffering over death of a child. You do what you can to try to stay alive. No Job ! No where to go. To move from one state to another for peace and healing. I did sale a few off to e-bay, when e-bay was so young, to buy food and heat for winter.

Being Poor is not what Red wanted me to be ever. And i do have all these memories i have in my mind and heart. And that is so priceless too me. I have tryed to sale my painting to help my family here. Even put them up in a small art gallery here in our little town, for over a year. No one wanted them. We tryed and tryed but we just got deeper in straights. This was before the ecomony hit us also.. Our place is so small here, no room for them on the walls here. I have them just wrapped up and put in a closet... How said that know one ,but me remember this Great Clown and Man. All i wanted to do is try to help my family here when you wait for Govt help and suffer for over 2 years. When you worked so hard for 35 years and no help from anyone. Plus still need too, being a disablity in these times are not good. I feel for those who are just now loosing all they had. I pray for them all, these are not good days ahead. Yes , i would love to sale what i have and for someone to give a few of my things a Great Home... That would be so Awsome. Thank you, and as Red would say God Bless ! May God bless all ! steve,ky
