What is your best thrift Store/ second hand store autograph discovery?

Interested in hearing about any gems that people may have picked up whilst scouring the shelves of second hand stores, thrift shops, markets etc. I picked up this Duff McKagan autobiography this week only discover it was signed for 4 Euro ($5) in my local second hand book shop (Sure it's dedicated, but I don't mind!). And a while back a Neil Gaiman - Anansi Boys 1st edition signed book that I discovered for 1 Euro ($1.35). They weren't advertised as signed, just stuck in with other books and I was delighted to discover them.

I have also picked up a few signed CD over the years; The Zombies (Colin Blumstone and Rod Argent), The Cranberries and Supergrass all for a couple of bucks! I also once bought a Jason and The Scorchers LP and only when I got home did I discover a large signed poster inside by all the original band!!

I'd love to hear any of your stories of that cheap and glorious discovery that you happen upon from time to time...

Here's the Duff and Neil Gaiman books.

I have never had much luck finding cheap signed items at thrift stores. The best I did was 3 signed Richard Petty promos for $2.00.

Never went to thrift shops much.  Years ago I found a Deion Sanders signed Prime Time CD.  That might be about it.

Rich, Is the Deion CD any good. I am a fan of his. If you still have it maybe I could trade you something for it.

I don't think I actually ever listed to the CD itself, if that's what you mean.  My friend and I were in a used CD store in the mid-90's, and he opened a couple up, having heard something to the effect that a number of them were signed.  He did end up finding a signed one.  Looks similar to this, but signed on the inside.  I think it's in storage at my parents's house.

It isn't worth $127.00 to me. If you ever dig it out and want to make a deal hit me up.  Thanks.

Eight or nine years ago, I took a writing class and my teacher told us that he was the ghostwriter for a mob novel/cookbook called "A Meal To Die For" that was "written" by the actor who played Gay Vito on The Sopranos, Joseph Gannascoli. I went to the local Borders and picked up a copy out of curiosity. When I got it home, I found Gannascoli had signed it! So I brought it to class and had my teacher sign it too.

I also once found a Semisonic CD (the one with "Closing Time" on it) signed by the whole band, for about $5 at a used CD shop. Turned out it was really good, and now it's probably worth a buck more 'cause the leader of the band wrote a whole bunch of Adele's hits.
