Saw this set coming up for auction. Absolutely no provenance but must have a chance. I have most concerns about Lennon and Starr. Any thoughts?

There is quite a bit in the McCartney I don't like.

I have concerns with all of them

What I notice about each signature that seems strange is how it trails off at the end, the "John" is not Complete. The "Starr" is not complete. The "Harrison" is not complete. Even the "Mccartney" "Y" seems like an after thought. To me that screams being done in the same hand. Of course I could be wrong, maybe they did trail off their signatures, I am not expert, but if I was looking at this, I'd stay away.

Here's one that has been authenticated by Tracks UK. I initially thought it was the same item, but it isn't.

Thanks Ballroom. That Tracks authenticated piece really is uncannily similar in terms of placement - no wonder you thought it was the same. Maybe there is a whiff of a rat.

I still think "mine" has a chance, especially as it was found by a charity shop in a pile of records and is being sold on their behalf without any "cock and bull" story as to provenance. If it is not "right" I doubt the charity is trying to pull a fast one deliberately.

Tracks currently have a different (all fountain pen-signed) example of this magazine on their site by the way. A snip at £12.5k - don't all rush at once.

the Tracks one that Ballroom posted does not have the same issues that the one in the subject has, in my opinion.

Agreed.

Which of the two Ringo signatures do you think looks better?

Here's an excerpt from the the auction description for the example that I posted:

John Lennon and Ringo Starr have signed by blue ballpoint pen, Paul McCartney has signed in dark blue fountain pen and George Harrison has signed in black ballpoint pen. The autographs were obtained in Jersey (England), Channel Islands in August 1963. The Beatles played a total of four nights at the Springfield Ballroom in Jersey in August 1963, the dates were 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th. The autographs come with a letter from the lucky original recipient that reads: “‘this booklet was issued for the visit of the Beatles to St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands in August 1963. A friend and I attended two of their concerts and having found where they were staying, we left our copies on the desk in the hotel foyer. George Harrison came back earlier (I Think they were at a party with Frankie Howerd) and kindly signed his name plus three xxx s! John, Paul and Ringo duly arrived and signed all the programs, of which there were possibly about a dozen...

In my unexpert opinion. The O on Ringo on the tracks stays connected. The OP the o looks circled on as an after thought.

The McCartney bothers me the most on the trail end. The disconnection.

To me the "O" appears to be connected, plus it includes a fully formed "NG" portion. It's interesting that both Maccas are signed in blue fountain pen.

I just saw the listing info. You may be right. It could very well be good. Interesting.

the Macca in the subject is a mess. look at how many loops there are in the M.  the whole last name is wrong.  I seems like someone tried to copy the one you posted.
