After replying to a George Michael post a moment ago and talking about a wonderful Live Aid program I passed on years ago signed by GM obtained by security (photos and all), I got to thinking about the missed opportunities we must have all had. I've been collecting for 40 years, there have been so many I passed up on over the years that I now regret.

It's a part of the hobby I suppose. Just thought I'd make a post purely to vent about the items we snubbed in the past...and wished we bought now that these lovely people are gone. Got any you'd like to share?

This is a great topic for conversation. I've passed on a few great deals in the past mainly because even though they were great prices being offered, I still didn't quite have the funds.

You could also extend this into regrets about selling particular items we once had. You know...the ones that you had but maybe foolishly let them get away...or maybe the girl that got away...lol!
There was a Jim morrison yearbook that sold on ebay that i really liked and one of the dealers bought it and then it was in Iconic auctions,it didnt sell because of the reserve, but i ended up paying a premium for it after it was listed for the second time on ebay.
Some things are worth owning if you can work it.
Good point, James. I sold many items I regret letting go. But when you have 6 sons to put through college, you bite the bullet. Still, there were a few that got away.

No regrets although I wish I had more money! For every item I've owned there have been, at least, 10 others I had to pass up. The hardest part is choosing which one is most important to me.

The good news is for every item I've missed there has been another even better to be found. The never ending quest.

Indeed, Joe. The that's what keeps most of us going in the hobby. The hunt never ends! Gets more expensive, but never ends!
