When I met Macca back in mid 2013, when he came over to my city, he was very generous with fans, signing on both ocassions at the airport for 12-15 fans (usual rules though, one each, no personalization, no photographs etc.). I got some beautiful items signed - Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's LPs (sadly, reissues) and tour programme. It was not possible for me to get him in the next few years but I have indeed heard he signed from time to time a few each, as far as I know no "Paul McC" but just "Paul" or "Pal" though.
Do you know what happened in Washington D.C. in summer 2013 which made him stop signing or at least reduce it significantly?
For what it's worth here's my Paul McCartney signed for MTV's charity in 2008.
Nobody had their camera smashed and was left with "two bloody arms." Otherwise, you would've sued, and made an easy million. With that money, you could buy a set of Beatles signatures on the album of your choice.
Met Paul twice. He said no to me twice, once while pointing a finger in my face (after I spent money to attend a charity event he was at). I eventually got it, but...
I think he can be a jerk many times.
Why would I sue? When you take someone's picture without their permission, you risk upsetting them. I made the choice and I accepted the consequences.
And yes, the story is completely true. It was Mark Hamilton at Miami International Airport with the candlestick. Multiple witnesses present.
I can't imagine a world where telling fictitious stories on autograph forums would be my reality, especially embarrassing ones.

^ From a legal standpoint, this is simply not true, you can take anyone's picture in public, freedom of the press, and if they do property damage or physically hurt you, you can easily sue and win.
That's fine, but that is why people doubt the story (I don't doubt the story). Most people would take action. Guy makes more money in 3 hours onstage than most make in a lifetime, damage my camera and arms, and I love ya to death Sir Paul, but it will cost ya a couple pennies.
Not everybody has a "sue" mentality. I would hope Justins arms weren't injured that badly. However my own little story with not suing> My son fractured his skull at the age of six on property in my development. Luckily my jobs free healthcare paid for it all (big bucks) anyway we figured he was responsible, we shouldn't sue. Dumbest thing I ever did, shoulda sued their xxxxs off!
