Hi, I have a John Wayne business card that is signed on the front of the card, not the back and would like to find out if the signature is authentic or a pre-print.  I have never seen another signed on the front, all the ones that I have ever seen were pre-printed on the back side.  There is nothing on the back side of this card except some glue residue from being pasted in a book. Thanks

The image isn't super sharp, but from what I can see, it definitely looks like a preprint.

Here are some better photos out of the screw down holder.  Thanks

Hi, what makes you think that is live ink?

I don't know if it is live ink or not, that is why I am asking for opinions since I have never seen one of these pre-printed on the front.   I know very little about autographs, that is why I am asking.

Here is a link to a thread about these cards - I would look for a match online.

The signature is identical to the common ones which are preprinted on the back.

Attached is a sample of one of those, layered directly above yours. Perfect match.

Not including the Alamo 1960. ;)

There you have it. Well done Mr. Steffman.

Thanks, now I know.  I still think it is neat being on the front and not the usually seen ones on the back.

It's definitely neat. I'll take a common one, even. Throw it on the wall in my office. :)

Hi Dave, yes, still neat. Never discount your own ability to search for a match etc. for things you feel might be preprinted.
