Some members found a lot of what they felt were classic Hollywood secretarials there years ago. I don't know if the company was ever told about them.

Years ago I heard that the owner, Todd Axelrod, bought a HUGE autograph collection ages ago, around the early '80s. Most secretarial or other material of concern probably dates from that time. They should take the time to clean it out, though.

I have emailed a message to Russell Turner who must be employed with this company which includes a link to this discussion. Hopefully, he will read this and possibly respond. I am sure there is no intentional deception being made by this company.

Hello Everyone,

Joe W. reached out to me yesterday and suggested that I visit this forum and I agreed that it would be a good idea to check-in with you all to let you know a little more about our company.

As mentioned in a few posts, we do indeed strive to offer only authentic autographs and manuscripts. We've been in business since 1981 and one of the main reasons we've been successful is due to our dedication to authenticity and the top-notch service we provide to our clients. If it is brought to our attention that there's an issue with authenticity on a listing we will most definitely take a look at it and pull it if our archivists concur. The last thing we want to do is to offer something that is questionable.

On the topic of prices, we are working hard to address the issue. Starting last October we've initiated a number of steep price reductions (over 50%) in an effort to place our material more in-line with current market values. We've always offered large discounts however it was decided that it would be better to simply start with a lower price. In addition to these across-the-board price reductions, there is an on-going process to manually review each signer in our archives and to further adjust prices on an individual basis. With over 40,000 signers and 200,000+ documents in our system this process will understandably take some time. The best option for any customer is to take advantage of the "Best Offer" option on our listings. Should an offer be auto-declined by the system, the next best step would be to message us directly with your offer. We will then do our best to work with you to come to an agreeable price.

I would like to extend an invitation to all to take another look at our listings if it’s been some time since you've visited us; you may be pleasantly surprised at our new prices. We look forward to continuing to be a trusted and valued member of the autograph collecting community and are always available to answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
Russell Turner - COO Gallery of History, Inc

I took you up on your invitation to visit your site Mr. Turner...

I viewed the 8 Elvis Presley signed items you have listed...

Not to be indelicate but I was not inspired by what I saw...

Hello Don,

I did note that there was a previous post about the Presley signed album covers so I've asked Roger Epperson to take a look at them.

Great response Mr. Turner!

It might be in your best interest to have Roger examine all 8 Elvis offerings...not just the signed album covers...

Thanks...

You first caught my eye when you were selling Col. C.E. "Bud" Anderson's autograph for several hundred dollars, despite him signing for free through-the-mail and offering signed pictures on his website (generally the same photos you're selling) for $25.

So, after reading this, I went back to your website to "be pleasantly surprised" by your new prices.

Bud Anderson signed photo on your website: $238

Exact same photo from Col. Anderson's website: $25 shipped in the US, $40 international

But, hey, at least yours is on sale from $280!

If offering autographs at a 900% mark up above retail works for you, more power to you. But I have no desire to play a "make an offer, then email us directly if the system rejects you" game because you decided to price yourself astronomically out of the market.

If you want my business, then don't waste my time or jerk me around. If you don't, that's fine--I'm sure there are plenty of people who'll play your games with you.

I agree 110% with you. I refuse to do business with those clowns. They pander to the super rich and gullible. Like you, I've seen similar items to theirs on other sites for considerably less. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees through those price-gougers' sham.

They're OK....as has been said...they try to do the right thing...

Okay, let's see what Roger says about Elvis.
Thank you Mr. Turner for your engagement to help us and of course yourself.

For anyone that is interested,

We've had Roger Epperson take a look at all of our Elvis Presley listings. He had issues with the signed album covers as well as a TLS which was part of a larger set so we've removed them. He stated that the 3 other Presley's were fine.
