Janis Joplin Necklace, Ring and Autograph Sell on eBay for $7,800? + $6,500 Jim Morrison Shirts

What do you think about this lot of "Janis Joplin items", which apparently sold on eBay for $7,800?

The auction description from seller scott-tcbelvis:

I may only run this piece on ebay another 7 days if it doesn't sell this week. I've spoken to another large auction house, if it doesn't sell here I will be consigning it to them in Beverly Hills in their next Hollywood/Entertainment auction. Since there % is more, it will be starting with a minimum bid of 10k. Get it before the price increases. **
Here's an AMAZING Janis Joplin collection in one display case. Ready to hang and display is a Janis Joplin owned/worn necklace and ring !! Included is a cut signature/autograph signed simply "Love Janis Joplin". This piece (other than my Elvis Presley pieces), is one of the center pieces of my collection. The necklace has glass type beads (purple, green, orange and yellow) on a silver type chain. The ring is a burgundy colored stone set in a silver (semi decorative) setting. The necklace and ring are accompanied with a letter of authenticity from Seth Morgan (according to my research he was Janis's fiance at the time of her untimely death). Both the necklace and ring are accompanied with a letter from Seth Morgan. I purchased these back in the mid to late 80's from a collector/dealer I met in Chicago at a record show, who purchased them originally from Seth in the mid 70's. The cut signature/autograph I purchased in the early to mid 90's (I believe 93). The autograph is accompanied with a different COA. I originally purchased these for my mother, whom was a huge Janis Joplin fan. She passed away in 97' at which time I received them back. I have alway thought these should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or displayed in a museum. A truly one of a kind rarity, that can be in your office or living room !! I am selling due to a fairly recent surgury and mounding medical bills. Everything will be shipped as seen in photos, except I will secure everything inside the case very well for their travels. The display case is approximately 14" wide, 27"tall and 4" deep. It to will be encased in bubble wrap and packed VERY well. Thank you for taking the time to look. If you love music and music memoribillia, don't forget to check out my other auctions/Sales as I have ammased an amazing collection over the last 35+ years I've been collecting, buying/selling. My collection is probably 80% however Elvis Presley, so if you like Elvis, keep checking back. I will be listing stuff weekly (hopefully). Thanks again...

Here's an authentic Janis autograph on the left along with the one included in this auction.

The forger chose a pretty distinctive signature to copy, but it worked. Unless, that is, the buyer backs out of the sale.

Someone on eBay wrote the following about this seller:

Elvis Presley FAKE owned items Buyers Beware !!!

I am writing this in hopes I can save someone from purchasing one of this sellers fake pieces !! when your purchasing from this particular seller, Please be sure and read his feedback on the items hes bought. All of what he sells is purchased from eBay, he makes fake COA's and says they were from the Jim Curtain collection, 95% of what he sells is shirts that were owned by Elvis (NOT).You can see he bought it, fabricated a certificate and put a holographic sticker on it (which was purchased from eBay). Hes recently done the same with a Marilyn Monroe piece also. they are easy to spot if you do your homework. The shirts are always listed at anywhere from $599-$799.  In the last six months he has sold roughly 10 shirts !!  You would think he was a mini Graceland. I've called him out by posting a shirt he just sold by making a listing with a photo of the shirt and telling buyers to check his buyers feedback and they would see he bought it for $10.99 and sold it for $699, with his fake certificates and same old story of the shirt coming from the salvation army and the Jim Curtain collection. Luckily the buyer seen the listing and demanded his money back. Money was refunded from the scam artist , unfortunately he reported my listing and it was pulled. I hate to keep doing that because eventually eBay will suspend me, or he will block me. so, PLEASE CHECK HIS FEEDBACK ON HIS PURCHASES !! Most of what he sells is Elvis, Bret Farve, and recently hes started in with John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe..

Thanks for posting this Ballroom.

Actually I just found the post and the poster is actually the seller of the items we're talking about.  Not someone complaining about him?  https://community.ebay.com/t5/Archive-Bidding-Buying/Elvis-Presley-...

That's odd. It does appear that the seller is complaining about someone else.

Wow, there are some real suckers in this world.

TCB = Totally Conning Buyers

The seller is back with a "Jim Morrison - Owned/Worn shirt. Given to then manager."

Here's the LOP dated 2001, which states that the Doors office was located on the Sunset Strip. The Doors office was actually located at 8512 Santa Monica Boulevard. It's followed by a genuine LOP from Danny from 1988.

Sold for $6,500.

It says 9.500 when i hit the link.

eBay doesn't show the actual price when a best offer is accepted.
