I got this Jean Harlow signed photo. My question is: Should I keep it on that frame? Or it will fade? It's a normal frame.

Thank you and sorry for my ignorance!

Hi Noni,

If it is archival glass it shouldn't fade.

I'd just keep it out of direct (and indirect if possible) natural and florescent light.

plus one

Also far away from or over household heating elements, like radiators or baseboard heating. Keep it away from anything hot that radiates up.

Is that a new purchase or have you had it for a while?

Its a new purchase and its a family frame not archival

Noni, I hate to say this, but I am concerned about the authenticity of your Jean Harlow.

Do you say it's secretarial?

It looks like her mother's writing, although it's unusually bold and seems to be in much fresher condition than the rest of the photo, so I'm not 100% sure. But yes, I think so.

I agree with Steve. This is a 'Moma' autograph. Harlow's mother signed a large percentage of Jean's autograph requests and although they have a value, it's not as much as an authentic Harlow autograph piece.

If you do a study of Harlow's authentic autographs, it's relatively easy to see the differences between Jean and her mother's autographs. Still a nice association piece though.
