similarities for sure, and while I do like yours, Paul, I am starting to lean towards not authentic on the posted one. The Jo seems off compared to the others.
I'm leaning towards no on it, but not by much.
thank you Steve
You know...I'm with Terrier now. I think it's real. I'm not sure, but I give it a good 80% chance. It's got a lot going for it.
Steve,
thanks again for your opinion, i appreciate it!
i'm really not an expert of handwriting like many of these guys, but it seems to me that this is real signature of Lennon.
but who knows...
What it lacks in realism it does make up for in plausibility. Most professionals will straddle the fence on this piece, precariously teetering back and forth in making a decision, much like we are here. I have no doubt that 80% will eventually fall off that fence into the "it's good" section. It's got enough believable elements, if taken individually, the way most apply analytics to signatures. And that included the most important opinions of all, the respected people grading them and issuing the COAs, which really make or break the piece. But that aside, I'd pass, my opinion being "not John", for what it's worth.
Not a fan. It's...jumbled.
That's the perfect analogy. Like if someone built a home with the shutters aside the doorways instead of the windows. :)
Noticeably, because of the high level of expertise this forum's members possess, the first instinct consensus was "not John". Among experts, that first instinct is typically the right one.
