For me, and my humble opinion, I wouldn't. I personally think it is distracting. With the back cover being on the left your eye immediately goes where the autograph isn't.
I also hate UPCs with a passion. I hate when they are visible personally.
I would keep it about the front cover. I also wouldn't frame them together, because they aren't together at that time. Instead I would frame them seperate with a ticket from the show or that tour or also a tour book, photo, or backstage pass.Still keeping the front cover front and center. Keep it about the solo individuals, but frame them side by side.
All just my suggestion, both are great!
IMHO, I agree with Adam. I believe that autograph is the entire reason for creating a matted presentation and should be the "star of the show". Everything else is just window dressing. One other thought. Waters and Gilmour are each worthy of separate presentations. The two individually is worth more that than two together unless, of course, they are signed on the same piece.
Most of all though is that you follow your concept. As the owner, do what pleases you the most. You may have a concept that none of us can see or appreciate until it is placed before our eyes.
I agree with Adam that they would be better separate,it is a matter of opinion. As for framing,I think open would look good also. Here is the one I own framed with a basic mat.imo,I think open or closed would look good. This one has been up on the wall for a few years now and I’ve never really noticed the UPC code .
Nice piece, Paul. The simplicity makes it stand out wonderfully.
Thanks everyone - much to consider. This "mat" is a color--crazy mock-up - clearly too busy. I wanted them together because - well, that's how I likes my Gilmour and Waters - together! Perhaps medium grey and red. But true, they might deserve separate framing. I've got tickets for each show and filming too.
Thanks Joe,i do alot of over the top framing,i wanted to just keep this one simple for sure.
Yes, very nice Paul. I’m also a big fan of the “gallery-style” black framing. Like Joe has already said, the simplicity of the framing allows for the “work of art” to really take Center stage. Just great.
Thanks,it’s definitly one of my simplest framejobs ,in this case it worked well for sure.
That looks fine! :)
thanks Eric,i do like your matting idea, how about 2 seperate frame jobs with that matting?
That just might be the way to go! :)
I think that would look great.hang them right next to each other.
