I have a question for everyone.
I've been noticing that the buy&sell section is skipping a step.
That step for me is an important one.
And that is that an item be posted in the authenticity section first for members to give their opinion and make sure it's legit before if goes up for sale
So my question is this...
Should this rule be enforced? (FYI...it actually is a rule by our leader Steve Cyrkin)

You have every right to speak up if you feel something listed in the buy, sell, trade section. At least notify Steve Cyrkin if you see a potential problem. I didn't think it was a requirement to ask members of their opinions before listing it although it is a good policy if an autograph is in doubt. I'm sure members will speak up if there is a problem.
I never new it was a rule.
its just double work but I have no problem posting twice
I always thought steve reviews the for sale stuff or if people say no good it gets pulled down
to me not putting prices up is more of a problem
be transparent but up good picks all info u have who when why and how much and shipping charges
that's more inportant
I think long standing trusted members such as you can bypass this
And there are others
But for the non long standing members, I believe it's important to do the proper process before posting an item for sale
I've been here long enough to know who to trust, but so many folks I don't know
I'll see what Steve has to say via pm and maybe he can respond here
As far as stating a price. That is helpful although some members would rather negotiate in private. I have no problem with that either.
I would prefer to see a price listed but no big deal if the person wants private negotiation
Most members here know what they are willing to pay. From my experience here there always seems to be some back and forth between the buyer and seller behind the scenes.
It could also just be as easy as saying, before you send money or commit to purchase, get opinions on it first from the group. That is how so many fakes get purchased in the first place. The lack of an impulse control. I do think that education is a very important first step to this hobby, and while I won't blame the victims of scams....It is important to think about protecting yourself. Always ask for opinions from other collectors who study that celebrity, do your own research so you aren't relying solely on other peoples opinions, and buy from trusted sellers. It is important for fellow collectors to help each other out.
I've also noticed this some people join and go straight to the buy and sell and put something up for sale and then seem to disappear ?
YEUP
It's an actual rule posted by steve in the buy n sell section
there was a time when folks adhered to it
now people jump into selling stuff
and yes... some new members go straight there
and Joe got burned because of it
I would like to see the proper process be put back in place
Yes I know I should be telling Steve, but I wanted to hear members opins as well
I didn't get burned. Got my money back. It wasn't because the autograph was bad, it was because the person never sent it to me.
I don't think the rule ever was all autographs had to be "approved" before placing them in the buy & sell area.
I don't see a problem with the way it's currently going. I think members here are quite vocal when necessary.
