I don't collect signed jersey's but was at an event a few weeks back and almost got one until I saw it was most likely a fake jersey.  No branding and no team name. Auto looked real.

I got this email this morning:

Looks like another non branded no team name jersey.  Are these legit?  After some research it seems common to use these "custom" jerseys that are fake.

Looks good to me.  Tri-Star is a legit company who has done a ton of private signings and also sponsored many nationally recognized shows for the past 25 years.

Thanks Steve.  I figured the auto is legit.

I guess my question is why do they use these "custom" jersey's which are fake.  Doesn't that devalue the auto?

I think the reasoning is the cost of the official jersey.  Since the jersey would be displayed with the back side showing, most people can’t tell the difference between the official and unofficial jerseys.  The cost of the unofficial jersey is a fraction of the official jersey and they can sell it for much less and pass along the savings to you.

Steve is right. Tristar is solid. No NFL logo means HOFer jersey for under $100.
