A large, gorgeous vintage Michael Jackson signed album sleeve from 1980 sold for a mere $485.  The seller used the always-risky Auction-format and did not have an LOA or COA.  The winner also got a vintage MJ doll and a few periodicals.  A seller does take a big risk sometimes when using the Auction format.  But let me be clear:  Michael Jackson prices have NOT been dropping by any means.  Just look at recent prices I listed below.  This was just a product of the risky auction format and NO LOA.  Unfortunately, for the most part, not having a Beckett, Epperson, PSA, or JSA LOA makes getting full value much harder.  I just wanted to show this beautiful MJ autograph and lament my not seeing the auction before it ended.  Had I seen it, the item would have gone for more for sure.

Typically, MJ autographs don’t come cheap.  About six weeks ago a Michael Jackson signed Thriller album sold for $4049, and the signature wasn’t a particularly nice looking one.  Another signed Thriller sold for $3995, and yet another Thriller signed album sold for $2880.  Within the last week or two a signed Dangerous VHS box with a slightly faded Autograph sold for $1299.  And signed photos often sell in the $1200- $1700 range.  Heck, a signed cut PSA/DNA encapsulated sold for the Best Offer from an initial price of $2750 just this week.  It was also a very nice more “modern” MJ autograph.

Anyway, I wish I would have seen the signed album sleeve from The Jacksons Triumph album while the auction was still ongoing.  Here’s a few of pics.  I think that is just a beautiful autograph.

Yes, that’s a nice one too. Whoever won the one I posted I think could quite possibly triple their money if they wanted to sell it once they get it authenticated. I think it is possible prices could drop momentarily, but I definitely think prices would rebound to pre-HBO levels once the hype around the documentary dies down.  As I said above, Michael’s fan base is enormous and they been out full force in his defense.

James...

As everyone who knows of me I am a huge Michael Jackson fan and supporter.  I learned my lesson  in the 2005 trial not to believe the media at face value and I sure didn't fall for it now with this absolutely atrocious so called documentary.    The good thing out of this is it is reopening the true facts of the 1993 and 2005 cases which were just as if not more ridiculous accusations.  Those 2 events began to tarnish his legacy.  But I firmly believe as ALL these allegations become more magnified under greater scrutiny and investigation, there will be a shift in the doubters that MJ was in fact innocent all along and that his gift to the world especially children was pure and innocent.   Give it time...the value of his items will soar to higher levels.

Wonderfully put, Prashant!  I think you’re absolutely right.  Besides his beautiful music, what Michael Jackson SHOULD be known for is peace, love, and respect for humankind.  Michael really wanted to save the world, and especially the children.  He once said he would rather cut his wrists than hurt a child, and we know that was true. This was a man who went to hospitals to visit sick and dying children in order to bring them hope and happiness.  He gave millions to childrens’ charities, and this is how the world thanks him?  So sad.  But thankfully, Michael Jackson has millions and millions of determined and devoted fans who will make sure his legacy is not devastated.

I honestly don’t know how Wade Robson and James Safechuck can sleep at night.  A great line from a John Mellencamp song says, “An honest man’s pillow is his peace-of-mind.”  Well for those two their pillows must have gone completely flat by now!  It’s bad enough to try to ruin any person’s reputation with false allegations.  But to do this to a principaled, loving man who did nothing but try to help you and who also just happens to one of the most famous and beloved celebrities the world has ever known is simply unconscionable.  This is maybe the worst case of character assassination I’ve ever seen.  But with time, as you say, I’m sure Michael’s legacy will once again survive and thrive.

James,

I am confident when I say most genuine fans and supporters of MJ are smart enough to see the lies from this "mock"umentary.   They aren't saying to necessarily love MJ and his music and what he stood for.  They are simply saying look at the facts and the at the man who is being accused before jumping on this notion he is a monster and pedophile.  Let's look at this from a logical standpoint:

Why would Michael openly share to the world of his love of children, have children around him, make his purpose about children and openly admit if he hurt a child, he would slit his wrists?  Now correct me if I am wrong but does a true pedophile openly admit the latter?  Wouldn't they hide all suspicious behavior?  Keep quiet?

I mean seriously, a 10+ year file with the FBI proved NOTHING, zero evidence.  If they found something, we all know the FBI would put him behind bars.  Period.

And now people are falling for this notion from NON CREDIBLE witnesses  (Wade ROBson and James Safe"check") that somehow Michael sexually abused them?   By the day, people are waking up and seeing all the lies being exposed from both of them.  The 1993 and 2005 cases are NOW coming to light with the real truth and LACK OF EVIDENCE that Michael abused these accusers.  There wasn't the power of social media back then like you have now.  2 things to think about:

1.  1993 case:  the father of the accuser had an agenda to get everything from Michael, because Michael wouldn't fund his Robin Hood movie for yes you guessed it....$20 million dollars!  The latter is caught on a phone recording and this was BEFORE his son came out with any sort of allegations.  BEFORE!!!  So you go to a civil lawsuit, get your money, and AVOID THE CRIMINAL TRIAL?  Wait, why not put Michael behind bars if he was truly a criminal and did this to YOUR SON?  So why isn't this family being scrutinized?  Because Michael is the easier target.

2.  2005 case:  the downfall of all of this is from the Martin Bashir so-called documentary.  Most people do not know, that AFTER THE special aired in 2003 on television, Gavin Arvizo with his mother created a story that Michael abused Gavin 10 DAYS AFTER THE SHOWING OF THE documentary.  Yes, ladies and gentleman, Michael cured this young boy from cancer with his own money and resources so he could molest him!  What the hell is that???

Believe me James, I could go on and on and on...it is truly tragic on a level most disbelievers and haters people will never comprehend.  I could go on about ELVIS PRESLEY and his open behavior on luring under age GIRLS with drugs for sex but hey, why even bother attacking him right?  At the end of the day, the TRUTH will come out, Michael's legacy will prevail and the valuation of this items will actually increase to greater levels.

I kindly request all readers to take a look at the following link.  I promise it will put into direct perspective how big this man's heart was to the world.  No one will ever compare to him:

I'm not overly invested in the Jackson case, but speaking as a father of 6 sons and 5 grandkids, if anyone had ever been inappropriate with any of them, no amount of money on earth could shut me up. I couldn't be paid off to drop it and let the abuser walk free. I'd want him locked up. I'd want him removed from this earth, honestly. The fact that they took the pay out the first time around says all you need to know about that case if you're a parent.

Well said.

The problem I see with MJ is intolerance. People want to believe these things about him, unfortunately. And there is much to be gained from the estate for diminishing his net worth. Beatles catalog, anyone?

The fact is, you or I, or 99% of people who will opine on all of this -

simply. do. not. know.

None of us knew MJ. None of us were there.

That said, we do know that he was found innocent of all charges in a US court of law. And I have a hard time believing that they didn't throw everything they could at that case to get something - nay, ANYTHING - to stick. And yet, nothing did.

I will wait for physical proof or at least a whole helluva lot more than accusations from a couple families who clearly have credibility issues (not to mention highly questionable parenting sensibilities) before partaking in wholesale character assassination of a dead man. Unfortunately, for a lot of folks, they are buying the unproven accusations hook, line and sinker.

I'll be the first to express my disappointment if any of these things are PROVEN to be true. But I'm not just going to take somebody's word for it.

Regarding physical proof, as you say none has ever been provided that I know of.  And I’m wondering how, in the case of Wade ROBson, could a 7yo boy have really been able to keep the kind of horrific abuse that he claims from his mother.  He said he was 7yo when the abuse started, and it included being penetrated in the buttocks region on a daily basis for periods of time.  That boy would have been in so much pain that I don’t think he could have kept it from his mother.  His agony would have come out through his vocal cords making a mother ask what was wrong, where is the pain, what happened...and we need to see a doctor.

And of course there’s the fact Wade never mentioned anything to Michael’s niece whom Wade dated for 8 years!  And yet, while all this abuse was going on, Wade just seemed to love going back to Neverland to visit his pal Michael Jackson.

Correction:  I meant to say...while all this ALLEGED abuse was going on, Wade just seemed to love going back to Neverland to visit his pal Michael Jackson.

At some point, a boy that young would have said, “Mom, I don’t want to go see Michael today.”  And this would likely have been repeated to her over and over until she started to wonder why. Or if Wade and his mother were “living” there, Wade would likely have asked if they could leave rather than face another tortuous night with Michael.

Simply put, Wade’s allegations do NOT add up!

Thank you, Prashant.  Your posts regarding Michael are very insightful.  I knew about Evan Chandler’s having been tape recorded exposing his deceitful plan as you say, BEFORE, he supposedly was made aware of Michael’s ALLEGED misdeeds.  I did not know that Evan had previously tried to get $20 million out of Michael for Evan’s movie. What a scammer!

Far too many people are so ready to assume a person is guilty simply because a person is accused of a crime.  That’s not only wrong; it’s frightening because any one of us could be falsely accused of something for which we are INNOCENT!  And being the accused is hard on us both mentally AND physically.  These false allegations certainly took a toll on Michael’s physical health as well.

The links you posted are fantastic.  Michael was quite possibly the most generous celebrity the world has ever had.  Michael not only talked the talk; he backed it up with action!  I believe he was given an award for having donated over $300 million to charity.  His songs like Man in the Mirror, and Heal the World, and the Earth Song provided us with inspiration to take action, and take action he did!

People saying prices for his memorabilia will fall are not thinking things through.  Sure they could fall briefly, but the number of MJ fans worldwide is staggering.  Even if he lost a few fans percentage-wise, millions more will remain loyal fans.  I’m just glad his fans are fighting back and not taking it lying down.

Berit B. from Germany, here is the encapsulated Michael Jackson autograph that sold for Best Offer on a starting price of $2750.  Hope this helps.

Correction:  The starting price had been $2500.
